2022 Domaine de Fondrèche Rouge Not yet bottled and based on 60% Grenache, 30% Syrah, and the rest Mourvèdre, the 2022 Ventoux Domaine has a pure, up-front, perfumed, and medium-bodied style as well as terrific aromatics of black raspberries, blackberries, spring flowers, and smoky, scorched earth-like minerality. 2019 Château Vieux Chevrol Lalande de Pomerol The 2019 Vieux Chevrol is laced with crushed raspberry, graphite, mint, rose petal and blood orange. A wine of real dimension and complexity, Vieux Chevron is beautifully persistent from start to finish. This Lalande de Pomerol has real energy to match its presence. Terrific. Vinous 90 2024-05-31
2015 Valderiz Tomás Esteban Most original in style, this wine is a blend of Tempranillo with white varieties that are used to enhance colour and retain more good tannins in the wine. Despite its age - it is a 2015 - the wine is packed with lots of fruit and oak. Graphite. toasty and spicy aromas go together with developed blackberry fruit. Finely textured despite the high density, it caresses the palate. Long finish, on a great classic style. Such character. Club Enologique Magazine 96 2024-05-28
2019 Valderiz Juegabolos In 2019, Juegabolos reached a new height. Less marked by the oak than in former vintages, with more expressive and very ripe black fruit, it is extremely young for a 2019. Very concentrated on the palate; still quite oaky and exuberant but showing amazing fruit and silky tannins beneath. The finish demands a lot of attention, because of its complex and refined expression. I would bet on this wine's future improvement - it would make a great investment. 2023 Villa des Anges Pays d'Oc Rose 'Vielles Vignes' The 2023 Rosé Cinsault is a pliant, joyful, ripe style of Rosé that wears its heart on its sleeve. Apricot, pineapple and limestone-derived minerality coast across the palate. Partial malolactic fermentation and aging for three months on fine lees yielded a nice creamy roundness here, counterbalancing the wine's natural citrusy nerve and steeliness. 2023 is a testament to the expressiveness that can derive from old-vine Cinsault. - Billy Norris Vinous 91 2024-05-22
2023 Penya Cotes Catalanes Rose The 2023 Rosé, a light cotton candy pink in the glass, is smoky and sultry. Pear, toasted hazelnut and slate give an impression of seriousness, but juicy citrus tartness lights up the tongue and cheeks. The 10% Syrah in the blend lends some peppery tannins toward the close. This is cohesive and distinctive, and I like it for both of those reasons! Vinous 90 2024-05-22
