Morgon Cote du Py |
The 2024 Morgon Côte du Py was aged entirely in concrete vats. This is quite open and well-defined on the nose, a mixture of redcurrant and blackberry, with a touch of black olive in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, a fine bead of acidity and just a touch of chewiness towards the finish that should soften with time. Give this 12 to 18 months in bottle. |

Morgon Chollet |
The 2024 Morgon Chollet, hitherto Grands Cras and undergoing nine days of maceration, has a lovely bouquet with crushed strawberry, raspberry and touches of rose petal, blossoming with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with sapid red berry fruit, fine grip, lightly spiced and a quite persistent finish. This builds on the promise shown last year. Charming. |

Morgon 'La Roche' |
The 2024 Morgon La Roche (previously Corcelette) comes from vines planted in 1929, and this was bottled at the end of June. It offers slightly blacker fruit than other cuvées, with touches of graphite and damp undergrowth. Fine delineation. The palate is medium-bodied, with fine-grain tannins, lightly spiced, with impressive weight and density on the finish. Animated and quite delicious. |

Morgon Cote du Py 'Javernieres' |
The 2024 Morgon Côte du Py Javernières spent 12 months in barrel. This has quite a complex bouquet, with brambly red fruit, hints of five-spice and white pepper, something almost Moroccan about this, in a good way. The palate is medium-bodied, with supple tannins, a silver thread of acidity, very harmonious, with a persistent finish. Excellent. |

Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley |
We have watched this wine evolve year after year, and this vintage might be one of the best yet. It brings together grapes sourced from distinct sites across Washington’s Columbia Valley and is aged in 100 percent Taransaud French oak for 30 months. The result is a bold, powerful wine. It opens with aromas of roasted coffee beans, black cherries, and vanilla. The mouthfeel is rich with concentrated fruit and seamless tannins, weaving together to add depth. |

Cape Mentelle |
Cabernet Sauvignon 'Icon Heritage' |
Australia is a Cabernet Sauvignon powerhouse, but not in the Napa way. The wines tend to be jammier and have more savory notes. This bottle from Margaret River on the country’s West Coast is a great example, with notes of roasted tomatoes, ripe berries, and black plum. It lands full-bodied on the palate, with plush fruit and great acidity. |

Isabel Estate |
Sauvignon Blanc |
Intensity meets poise in this estate-grown Sauvignon Blanc. Notes of grapefruit and wet stone come seasoned with savory herbs like thyme and oregano plus a dash of white pepper on both the nose and the palate, which is decidedly crisp with lemon and orange zest but not without some gloss and weight thanks to partial fermentation in French oak. The tang of green tomato on the finish is subtle but no less seductive for that. |

Brunello di Montalcino |
The 2020 Brunello Di Montalcino has a medium red/orange-tinged color and is expressive on opening, offering aromas of baked strawberries, sweet spices, herbes de Provence, and tangerine. Medium-bodied, it has refreshing ripe acidity, ultra-fine tannins, and a silky texture through a very elegant finish. This lovely Brunello has fantastic immediate appeal and should drink well over the coming 6-8 years. |

Pays d'Oc Viognier |
A round, juicy and delicious viognier with notes of apples, fresh apricots and white flowers on the nose. Medium-bodied with a seductive character. Loads of caressing fruit character, with peach skins and apricots mingling on the palate and a fresh, flavorful finish. Drink now. Screw cap. |
