Tour Haut Vignoble |
Saint-Estephe |
The Cabernet Sauvignon in this wine gives it a good structure. Ripe tannins are still young, with black currant fruits and structure promising a good future. The wine should be ready from 2026. Buy Now. |

Saint-Estephe |
This wine's soft initial texture is misleading. Under the smooth tannins and ripe black fruits, the solid core will give the wine structure as it develops. Wait to drink until 2025. Buy Now. |

Barolo Ravera |
The 2018 Barolo Ravera is the most savory and mineral-driven of the three 2018 Barolos I tasted from this report. Dried flowers, mint, crushed rocks, sage, tobacco, incense, fallen autumn leaves and pipe tobacco lend quite a bit of aromatic breadth to this deceptively mid-weight, driving Barolo. Readers who appreciate aromatic subtlety will find plenty of that here. A few years in bottle should help soften the searing tannins. |

Ramírez de la Piscina |
Reserva |
A tightly meshed, medium- to full-bodied red, with savory cigar box, black licorice and tar accents to the saturated flavors of blackberry paste and fig cake. Reveals a dark, brooding side, but there's also good balance and pleasing balsamic acidity. Chewy finish. Drink now through 2028. 3,000 cases made, 1,500 cases imported. From Spain. Pinot Grigio Ramato Colli Orientali del Friuli |
The 2021 Pinot Grigio Ramato displays a pinkish-amber hue in the glass. The bouquet showcases white strawberry and sweet rose notes. This reverberates on the palate with a spicy blend of saline minerals and zesty acidity as nectarine and ginger settle on the senses. Hints of spice and licorice linger as the 2021 finishes with ample length yet remarkably fresh. |

Cabernet Franc Colli Orientali del Friuli |
An inviting, spicy and beautifully varietal blend of peppery wild berries, rosemary, bay leaf, eucalyptus and smoke wafts up from the 2019 Cabernet Franc. It's soft-textured and soothing on the palate, traversing both savory and sweet, with vibrant red fruits offset by a salty core of minerality. This finishes remarkably fresh yet potent, with residual acids that keep the mouth watering, as traces of tart raspberry fade amongst a coating of subtle tannins. |

Paquet Montagnac |
Pinot Noir |
This wine shows a beautiful ruby red color with purple reflections. The nose offers notes of red fruits (cherry, raspberry and blackcurrant), subtly enhanced by spicy aromas of cinnamon and pepper. In the mouth, the attack is pleasant. The tannins are delicate and partially integrated, offering a nice roundness to the wine and minerality in the finish. |
