2021 Stel+Mar Cabernet Sauvignon Lodi Ripe and rich, with sweet blackberry preserves, dark chocolate, and espresso. Juicy and fragrant with red berries and hibiscus. Tannins are supple and acidity is good. Tasting Panel 90 2023-03-08
2020 Domaine du Pegau Cuvee Reserve Rouge Chateauneuf-du-Pape I was even more impressed by the 2020 Châteauneuf du Pape Cuvée Réservée than the 2019. Boasting crazily complex floral scents, garrigue, raspberries and cherries, this is one incredibly perfumed example of Pegau. Medium to full-bodied, silky, elegant and long, this is quintessential Pegau. Wine Advocate 96-98 2023-03-06
2018 Domaine du Pegau Chateauneuf-du-Pape ‘Cuvee Laurence’ Lastly, and a classic expression of the cuvée, the 2018 Châteauneuf Du Pape Cuvée Laurence is a longer aged version of the classic Châteauneuf du Pape. It offers a wild array of peppery garrigue, herbes de Provence, saddle leather, and spices in a medium to full-bodied, rich, mouth-filling style. It has plenty of chewy tannins, but I suspect it will shine right out of the gate. Jeb Dunnuck 92-94 2023-03-06
2018 Beausejour Fronsac Lots of juicy fruit with blackberry and blueberry character and hints of flowers, too. Medium body, round tannins and a fresh finish. James Suckling 91-92 2023-02-21
2016 Beausejour Fronsac Full-bodied with lots of blackberry fruit, licorice and a tar undertone. Juicy finish. James Suckling 91-92 2023-02-21
2018 Moulin Rouge Haut-Medoc Cru Bourgeois, Supérieur Stewed blackcurrant, black olive, clove and hazelnut on the nose. Some iodine and tobacco. It’s medium-bodied with firm, chewy tannins framing a juicy core of dark berries. Try from 2023. James Suckling 91 2023-02-21
2021 Punset Barbera d'Alba This is fresh and crunchy with crushed berries, light spices and dried blood orange on offer, followed by a medium body with soft tannins and juicy acidity. Flavorful and attractive. From organically grown grapes. Drink now. James Suckling 90 2023-02-21
2019 Morgan G17 Syrah Saturated ruby. Black raspberry, cherry and a building floral nuance on the spice-accented nose. Broad, fleshy and seamless in the mouth, offering juicy dark berry and floral pastille flavors that are complemented by hints of licorice and cola. A smoky quality appears on the gently tannic finish, which lingers with very good tenacity. 18% new French oak. Vinous 91 2023-02-17
2019 Morgan G17 Syrah Plump and zesty, with shades of cherry and red plum, spice and sassafras accents and refined tannins on the finish. Drink now through 2028. Wine Spectator 90 2023-02-17
2021 Morgan Chardonnay 'Highland' Santa Lucia Highlands There’s a compelling combination of precision and depth on this bottling. Aromas of lemon glaze, thinly sliced Asian pear and crushed oyster shell lead into an acid-driven palate, where rounded flavors of pear, honeysuckle and celery cling to a firm, exciting structure.
