Mas d'En Gil |
Coma Vella |
The 2013 Coma Vella is a blend of Garnacha with 20% Cariñena and 10% Syrah from the Coma valley within the Mas d'en Gil property. It fermented in a combination of stainless steel and oak vats, and the wine matured in 225-, 1,500- and 3,000-liter French and Austrian oak barrels and vats for one year. It's very classical and serious, without any excess, quite balanced, subtle, earthy and spicy. The palate is medium-bodied with some dusty, fine-grained tannins and some rusticity that provides character. 35,618 bottles were filled in May 2015. |

Bellmunt |
The village red 2015 Bellmunt is produced with grapes from younger vines from deeper soils and shows sweet fruit. It's juicy, fresh and ripe without being jammy, as the palate is lighter than you think. It has a mixture of berries and a touch of orange peel that provide freshness. It's a blend of 60% Garnacha with 30% Cariñena and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Part of the wine is very lightly oaked in used 1,500- and 3,000-liter oak vats, while the rest was kept in concrete. |

La Fiorita |
Brunello di Montalcino |
I am impressed by the La Fiorita 2012 Brunello di Montalcino, although my impression is that this wine will be best enjoyed within the next five to ten years when the primary fruit is still intact. I say that because the primary fruit is indeed impressive with luscious, dark and succulent characteristics. This Brunello opens to a very dark color and rich concentration. The aromas burst from the glass with happy intensity. The mouthfeel is layered and rich in a similar manner. The wine surrenders easily to those who want to enjoy it immediately. |

La Fiorita |
Brunello di Montalcino |
Plum, espresso, French oak and a balsamic note herb emerge on this full-bodied red. On the chewy palate, notes of vanilla and licorice accent a core of mature black cherry alongside the warmth of evident alcohol. Firm close-grained tannins leave a grippy finish. |

Chardonnay |
The 2017 Chardonnay reveals scents of ripe Bosc pears, peach preserves and honey-drizzled apricots with hints of buttered popcorn, allspice and fennel seed. The medium-bodied palate is delicately played and wonderfully savory with lovely texture and a spicy finish. |
