2015 Keenan Winery Chardonnay Spring Mountain District Complex aromas of almond, dried apple, and pie crust follow through to a full body, layered fruit and a rich finish. Shows intensity and power. Drink or hold. James Suckling 93 2018-10-11
2016 Hentley Farm The Beauty Showing a bit more vibrance and intensity than the 2015, Hentley Farm's 2016 Shiraz The Beauty is a winning medley of raspberries and blueberries, all wrapped in a subtle oak blanket. It's full-bodied and spicy, showing a bit of exotic stone fruit on the palate, then fades slowly on a frame of dry, silky tannins. Wine Advocate 93 2018-10-10
2015 Hentley Farm Clos Otto The 2015 Shiraz Clos Otto reveals more power and concentration than the silky 2014, but it retains a sense of elegance. There's a lifted, herbal element, exotic notes of dried spices and plenty of powerful red fruit to drive the wine home. Full-bodied and rich, this looks less approachable than the 2014 at the moment, but it's equally good in the medium to long term. Wine Advocate 96 2018-10-10
2015 Hentley Farm The Beast The 2015 Shiraz The Beast looks to have the stuffing to go 20 years. Imagine a rich, deeply scented spice cake dotted with perfectly ripened black cherries, served in liquid yet savory form. Full-bodied, creamy and densely concentrated, this muscular offering picks up intriguing hints of pepper and licorice on the long, firmly tannic finish. Try after 2022. Wine Advocate 95 2018-10-10
2015 Hentley Farm The Beauty Co-fermented with Viognier skins, the 2015 Shiraz The Beauty spent 16 months in about one-third new oak barrels. Scents of cola, blueberries and baking spices emerge on the nose, while the palate delivers silky cherry and raspberry fruit. It's full-bodied and supple, with a crisp finish and touches of mocha. Wine Advocate 92 2018-10-10
2014 Hentley Farm Clos Otto The exceptional 2014 Shiraz Clos Otto weighs in under 15% alcohol. It's peppery on the nose, then adds cherry-raspberry fruit on the full-bodied, creamy-textured palate. Supple and rich but silky and long, it's a quintessential example of the paradox Barossa Shiraz can deliver, that sexy combination of strength and elegance. Wow. Wine Advocate 96 2018-10-10
2014 Hentley Farm The Beast The 2014 Shiraz The Beast spent 22 months in oak (65% new French), so it has a toasty, cedary veneer to it right now. There's plenty of cherry fruit, so just give it some time in the cellar before popping a cork. By then the oak will have morphed into lovely dried-spice elements adorning ripe cherries, and the full-bodied wine will show more elegance on the lingering finish. Wine Advocate 94 2018-10-10
2010 Andrea Oberto Barolo Albarella The 2010 Barolo Albarella shows a more evident use of oak (compared to the base Barolo) and definitely requires extra aging time to allow for full integration of those youthful aromas of spice and dark chocolate. The fruit is plush and forward, adding to the amazing sense of softness and generosity awarded by this pretty vineyard-designate wine. Licorice and bright cola flood the finish. Drink: 2017-2027. Wine Advocate 92 2018-10-05
NV Champagne Jacquart Brut Mosaique This sits in a fresh aperitif style with all-round appeal. Apple and white peaches. Lime citrus, too. The palate has brisk acidity sliced through smooth and supple fruit flesh. Drink now. James Suckling 91 2018-10-05
2016 Jean Marc Burgaud Morgon Cote du Py Burgaud's 2016 Morgon Côte du Py is pure and expressive, bursting from the glass with aromas of raspberries, plums, red berry preserve and rose petal. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, tangy and deep, with a cool, juicy core of fruit and a long, fragrant finish. It's racier and more elegant than the 2017 rendition, but they're on the same qualitative level. Wine Advocate 93 2018-10-03
