Cornas Chapelle Saint-Pierre |
The 2019 Cornas Chapelle Saint Pierre comes from the St. Pierre lieu-dit and would generally go into the Vieilles Vignes cuvée, but due to its unique character, the estate has opted to bottle it separately. The St. Pierre lieu-dit is a high-density planting from 1999 and the grapes were partially destemmed and the wine spent 20 months in used barrels. Beautiful black cherry, blueberry, cassis, exotic flower, and spice notes define the bouquet, and it's medium to full-bodied, with a layered, textured mouthfeel, building tannins, and a great finish. It shows the ripe yet also fresh style of the vintage nicely. Hide bottles for 5-7 years and enjoy over the following 15 years or more. It's a brilliant wine from this team I'd be thrilled to have in the cellar. There are a scant 2,500 bottles made. |

Cornas Les Vieilles Vignes |
A bigger, richer wine, the 2020 Cornas Les Vieilles Vignes offers blockbuster levels of black fruits as well as crushed violets, beef blood, and scorched earth-like aromas and flavors. Rich, concentrated, and powerful on the palate, it has a great mid-palate, ripe yet building tannins, and a great finish. As with all the top 2020s, it has a terrific thread of freshness and purity. |

Saint-Peray Fleur de Crussol |
Rocking honeyed pineapple, caramelized peach, spice, and brioche notes all emerge from the 2019 Saint-Péray Fleur De Crussol, a rich, medium to full-bodied, concentrated Saint-Péray that develops more salinity and minerality with time in the glass. I love its overall balance, and while it's drinking great today, it has a solid decade of prime drinking ahead of it. First created in 1999 as a collaboration with sommelier Daniel Denis (of Lyon), it comes from 80-year-old vines planted in limestone soils and is aged in a mix of 228- and 400-liter barrels, 30% of which are new. |

Cuvee Maclura Cotes du Rhone |
As to the reds, the 2019 Côtes Du Rhône Maclura offers plenty of dark fruits, black olive, and peppery garrigue in its rich, mouth-filling, full-bodied style. It’s a classic, pleasure-bent 2019 to drink over the coming 3-5 years. |

Keenan |
Cabernet Franc Spring Mountain District |
Tobacco, flowers and new leather are some of the notes that emerge from Keenan’s 2009 Cabernet Franc. Open, radiant and expressive, the 2009 impresses with its mid-palate pliancy and juicy, resonant finish. Stylistically, the 2009 is more about place rather than the truest essence of varietal character, but it is a striking wine just the same. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024. |

Chateauneuf-du-Pape 'Cuvee Reserve' |
Brilliant ruby. Smoky, mineral-tinged aromas of raspberry, cherry preserves, garrigue and exotic spices show excellent clarity and acquire a gamy nuance as the wine opens up. At once rich and energetic in character, offering well-concentrated red berry, bitter cherry and spicecake flavors and a sweetening touch of candied lavender. Shows fine definition and finishes gently, spicy and impressively long, with repeating florality and steadily building tannins. |

Two Hands |
Shiraz 'Lily’s Garden' McLaren Vale |
The 2017 Lily's Garden Shiraz is marked by ripe cherry fruit and herbal undertones. Hints of thyme and mint appear on the nose, while the medium to full-bodied palate is creamy and ripe, turning silky on the finish. This is one of the few Garden series wines where the oak is evident, but it's still well blended with the rest of the wine, showing up as just a bit of additional structure. |

Prosecco Rose Brut 'Cuvée Mariana' |
This is a wild pink Prosecco. It smells like all the red berries and the aroma of walking into a cheese shop. It’s earthy and heady, and there's a nice mineral note running through the palate to balance everything out. This is a refreshing wine and, with the mineral and fruit, would do well paired with pizza or even a wine and cheese party. |
