2018 El Principal Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 'Calicanto' Maipo Andes Valley The juicy and fruit-driven 2018 Calicanto, a blend of 49% Cabernet Sauvignon, 38% Carmenère, 7% Syrah, 3% Malbec and 2% Cabernet Franc, has the light of the higher-altitude vineyards from Los Andes, a kind of brightness that combines some herbal and wild berry aromas and a spicy touch. This is higher in Carmenère, and it's spicier and peppery, with a medium-bodied palate with fine and round tannins, a gentle texture and good balance. 132,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in April 2019. Wine Advocate 90 2022-04-07
2020 Marziano Abbona Dogliani San Luigi The 2020 Dogliani San Luigi is a very pretty, delicate wine laced with inky dark red/purplish fruit, sage, spice and violets. This mid-weight, classy Dogliani is an absolute pleasure to taste today. Vinous 90 2022-04-07

2018 El Principal Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 'Calicanto' Maipo Andes Valley An undeniably Maipo Alto wine, from the notes of black fruits, herbs and menthol to the smooth and elegant texture. A blend with a great sense of place that this year has 49% cabernet sauvignon, 35% carménère, and the rest syrah, cabernet franc and malbec. Stored for a year in used barrels, this red focuses on fruit flavors, but without neglecting a strong affiliation to its origin. The winemaker observes that this attribute is due to somewhat earlier harvests, which here have made the place take the lead. Descorchados 93 2022-03-31
2019 Valderiz Valderiz A harmonious red that marries power with finely detailed grace, showing a dense core of tannins tightly meshed with flavors of ripe black currant, fig cake, wild sage and mocha that slowly unfurl on the palate. Sleek and silky in texture, with a firm and lingering, well-spiced finish. Best from 2024 through 2032. Value Pick of the Week March 30, 2022 Wine Spectator 94 2022-03-30
2019 Domaine des Escaravailles Rasteau 'Cuvee Les Coteaux' This full-bodied, 80/20 blend of Grenache and Syrah highlights crisp raspberry and red-cherry flavors accented by whispers of violet and crushed earth. Sourced from clay-limestone soils at altitudes approaching 1,150 feet, it conveys a freshness of acidity and salty tang of minerality throughout. Tannins are still firm but fine grained. A bit nervous in youth, it should improve through 2027 at least. Wine Enthusiast 91 2022-03-24
2020 Jean-Marc Burgaud Morgon Grands Cras The explosive forest-berry nose drags you into this very concentrated Morgon. Enormous mineral freshness drives this sleek and expressive wine through the long and very focused finish. Still very young, though exciting right now. Drink or hold. James Suckling 95 2022-03-24
2020 Jean-Marc Burgaud Morgon Cote du Py 'Javernieres' Dark, meaty and smoky with a wet-earth undertone, this is a bold and fleshy Morgon that packs a punch at the long, moderately dry and very savory finish. Just beginning to open up, but surely has many years ahead of it. Drink or hold. James Suckling 94 2022-03-24
