2017 Lornano Rosso Toscana ‘Commendator Enrico Aromas of ripe red fruit, fresh herbs and dried flowers. Full-bodied with chewy tannins. A savory palate with good spice at the finish. 2021 Di Giovanna Grillo Vurria White smoke and flowers give way to kiwi and honeydew melon as the
2021 Grillo Vurria displays amazing finesse in the glass. It’s soft upon entry,
yet with a savory display of orchard fruits under a pretty air of minty
herbs. This leaves the cheeks puckered by tapering off with a salty flourish
and a slightly bitter twang. I’m enjoying the more-savory-than-sweet
nature of this wickedly fresh Grillo.
