Domaine du Pegau |
Cuvee Reserve Rouge Chateauneuf-du-Pape |
Scents of leather, violets, cherries and strawberries mark the nose of the 2021 Châteauneuf du Pape Cuvée Réservée, tasted as a representative assemblage from several foudres. Medium to full-bodied, it's silky but firm, with a long, slightly tannic finish. |

Marziano Abbona |
Barolo |
This offers spiced and earthy nuances on the nose yet goes deep on red and dark berries, dried citrus fruit and flowers too. Medium-bodied, firm and tense on the palate with juicy acidity and dusty, lightly chewy tannins. Fresh and racy. Drink after 2026. |

Domaine du Pegau |
Cuvee Reserve Rouge Chateauneuf-du-Pape |
This has so much power and meaty depth for the 2021 vintage, also stacks of healthy tannins that give it great intensity at the very long and complete finish. It’s packed with licorice, tar and stony character that makes it hard to pull yourself away from its compelling hold. Drinkable now, but best from 2025. |

Andrea Oberto |
Barolo |
The Andrea Oberto 2019 Barolo del Comune di La Morra is a charming wine with accessible, softly layered fruit. There are ripe cassis and blackcurrant aromas with sweet spice and earthy iris root. The open-knit and immediate side of this wine from La Morra must be underlined, as should the powerful 15% alcohol content. Given those traits, this remains an informal, near-term Barolo. |

A pale strawberry hue, this is a fruity little pink drink offering ripe melon characters and a dry, gently cream-textured palate. Chill well and knock back on a warm day. Best Buy. |

Vignerons de Buxy |
Givry 1er Cru Clos Jus |
A meld of blackberry compote, cassis, wild mint and thyme aromatics creates a compelling nose. Silky tannins and pronounced spice are elevated by mouthwatering acidity on the palate. With aeration, the wine demonstrates balance and high-toned flavors of plum and fresh apples you can sink your teeth into. Delicious. |
