2022	Morgan	Pinot Noir 'Twelve Clones' Santa Lucia Highlands	The 2022 Twelve Clones was aged in 36% new French oak for 9 months and pours a medium ruby-blue core with a light purple rim in the glass. Purple flowers and rich Marionberries hit the nose up front, while secondary notes of sweet baking spices, cedary herbs, and baked red raspberries play second fiddle. 2018	Chateau Bouscasse	Madiran	The 2018 Château Bouscassé, the first crafted entirely by Antoine Veiry, is a blend of 60% Tannat, 20% Cabernet Franc and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon matured 36 months in 20% new oak barrels. It displays a complex, spicy bouquet with aromas of plum, licorice, black fruits and dark wild berries. Medium to full-bodied, concentrated and layered, the wine tastes like the essence of Madiran with structuring, refined, velvety tannins and a seamless palate. 2018	Chateau Montus	Madiran	Exhibiting notions of spices, tobacco, blackberries, licorice and herbs, the 2018 Château Montus is medium to full-bodied, broad and enveloping, with a fleshy core of fruit framed by fine tannins that gently assert themselves on the finish. More intense and tense than the 2018 Bouscassé, it needs a couple of years in the bottle to chill out, but you can already see the potential. This is a blend of 80% Tannat, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Cabernet Franc sourced from vines planted on pebbles and clay soils, matured 36 months in barrels, of which 40% are new.
