Cornas Les Chailles |
Juicy red and blue fruits, spring flowers, violet, and hints of iron and black pepper all emerge from the 2021 Cornas Les Chailles, a medium-bodied Cornas from this terrific producer that's balanced, has remarkable purity, fine tannins, and outstanding length. |

Saint-Peray Fleur de Crussol |
Not yet bottled and the flagship from Voge, the 100% Marsanne 2021 Saint-Péray Fleur De Crussol offers impressive depth and richness, as well as complexity, in its stone fruits, marmalade, and spicy aromas and flavors. It's balanced, it has plenty of mid-palate depth, and I love its overall purity and precision. It's certainly up there with the top wines in the vintage, but this cuvée always demands a few years of bottle age to show its full potential. |

Saint-Peray Fleur de Crussol |
Honeyed orange, rose, spice, and crushed stone-like mineral notes all emerge from the 2022 Saint-Péray Fleur De Crussol, a nicely balanced, medium-bodied effort that has good acidity, a structure, focused mouthfeel, and outstanding length. A beautiful wine, it will benefit from a year in bottle and I suspect still be drinking well in 2032. |

Cornas Les Vieilles Fontaines |
A burly, powerful red, with pleasing chewiness and savory intensity. Offers a beam of mulled currant, fig and black licorice built around a smoldering iron note. Shows impressive structure and finesse, with a tug of tar and savory density on the salty finish, which is marked by hints of grilled herbs, juniper and aniseed. Drink now through 2030. 225 cases made, 17 cases imported. |

Amarone della Valpolicella Valpantena |
Spiced dried berries, citrus, dark chocolate, waffles and tar on the nose. Pretty full-bodied on the palate, with dried ripe berry fruit and figs lingering in a long and still juicy finish. Chocolate and bittersweet accents at the end. Drinkable now, but can hold well for another few years. |

Valpolicella Superiore 'Brolo delle Giare' |
A ripe and juicy expression that’s a little less concentrated than the 2019, but this has traded the jammy fruit for better freshness. A bit more detailed and fluid, with firm, chalky tannins and a lengthy finish. Sustainable. Drinkable now, but can hold. |
