Cabernet Sauvignon 'XXVII' Columbia Valley |
Full-bodied and intense, this dark-fruited red has aromas and flavors of tobacco, black fruit, walnuts, cloves and mocha. The tannins are firm but polished and well-integrated. Long, spicy finish. Drink or hold. |

Morgon 'Grands Cras' |
The 2023 Morgon Grands Cras is a step up in intensity from the Les Charmes. Blackberry, raspberry and light wild mushroom scents emerge with time. The palate is medium-bodied with very fine tannins framing pure red fruit. A lovely rondeur towards the finish makes this Morgon so caressing, yet there is structure behind it. Excellent. |

Morgon Cote du Py |
The 2024 Morgon Côte du Py has a vivid, stony bouquet with redcurrant and raspberry fruit unfolding in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-boned tannins and a touch more sour cherry in the mix, especially on the piquant finish. Again, this is very promising and might become the edgiest of Burgaud's 2024s. |

Morgon Cote du Py |
The 2023 Morgon Côte du Py, located in the lieu-dit of Côte du Py, has a beautiful bouquet of dark berry fruit, black tea and mineral-laden bergamot. The palate is medium-bodied, fleshy and very harmonious with finely spun tannins. Its understated yet poised finish lingers in the mouth. Exquisite. |

Morgon Corcelette |
The 2023 Morgon Corcelette seems to have gained a little more precision on the nose since I tasted it from barrel, with perfumed, minerally red fruit that conveys energy. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, exquisite balance and purity. Its mineral-driven finish is cut in a Foillard style. Superb. |

Morgon Cote du Py 'Javernieres' |
Bottled in January after 12 months and four months in tank, the 2023 Morgon Côte du Py Javernières has vibrant, mineral-driven red fruit on the nose that blossoms in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with very pliant tannins and a keen line of acidity, fresh and lightly spiced towards the elegant finish. Wonderful. |

The 2024 Morgon Grands Cras has a bright bouquet, a little more fruité than the Les Charmes. The palate is medium-bodied and understated in style, with refined tannins and a cohesive, slightly tertiary finish. Promising. |

Pinot Noir |
The 2022 Pinot Noir hails from the Wairau Valley and leads with a super pretty nose of crushed shells, cherry, shaved fennel, damp limestone and a hint of freshly grated nutmeg. In the mouth, the wine is elegant and focused, with brilliant mineral detail and fine, open-weave structure. 13.5% alcohol, sealed under screw cap. |

Morgon Cote du Py 'Javernieres' |
This Morgon is compact and concentrated with quite a bit of smoky oak, but somehow it manages to be elegant and animating. I love the way the fruit and smoky-oak tannins interlock, driving the medium-bodied palate forward. The imposing finish is earthy, savory and moderately dry. From the foot of the Cote du Py site. Matured in 10-year-old, 350-liter barrels. Drinkable now but best from 2026. |
