Saint Joseph Les Cotes |
Bottled in the spring of 2024 and crafted from 15-year-old vines, the 2022 Saint-Joseph Les Cotes displays a smoky, slightly reduced bouquet featuring dark cherries, violets and dark wild berries. Medium to full-bodied and sweet on entry with a layered, textured palate, it has good depth at the core, a fleshy structure despite a structuring chassis and velvety tannins, concluding with an ethereal, fresh and dark berries-inflected finish. Originating from a parcel in the commune of Mauves, this Cornas is exquisite yet a bit austere; however, additional time in the bottle should help to mellow its edges. |

Cotes Du Rhone Les Peyrouses |
There's good tension, balance and freshness to the notes of violet and black plum, powered by tangy acidity. Finely crushed mineral details add texture, while black pepper, baking spices, cast iron and leather bring complexity to the vivid palate. Apple wood and mesquite accents line the vivid finish. Drink now. 2,000 cases made, 500 cases imported. |

Saint-Peray Fleur de Crussol |
Derived from vines planted in the lieu-dit La Côte on marl, granite and clay-limestone soils, the 2022 Saint-Péray Fleur de Crussol unfurls from the glass with notes of almonds, white flowers, spring blossoms, spices and honey aromas complemented with a lovely oaky profile. Medium to full-bodied, layered and harmonious, with a cool core of fruit framed by racy acids and beautiful gastronomic bitterness that segue to a racy, long and saline finish. Matured for 18 months, it's crafted from the estate’s oldest vines, which are 80 to 90 years old. |

Pursued by Bear |
Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley |
This wine has it all, from great fruit and sharp acidity to a pleasing texture and integrated tannins. You know, just the bear necessities. This Bear enters from stage left with aromas of blackberries, fresh-pitched Yakima Valley hay, and a wisp of Madagascar vanilla bean. The balanced, medium-bodied wine then delivers rich, juicy flavors of black cherries, mocha, and star anise. Best Bear yet? Editor's Choice. |
