2012	Mas d'En Gil	Coma Blanca Vinyes Velles'	(50% garnacha blanca and 50% macabeo): Bright straw. High-pitched aromas of fresh citrus and orchard fruits, quinine, mint and chalky minerals, with a suave floral quality emerging with aeration. Sappy and focused on the palate, offering Meyer lemon and pear flavors plus a hint of anise. Refreshingly bitter and taut on the finish, which clings with excellent tenacity and hints of honeysuckle and chamomile. The marriage of power and vivacity here is quite suave.	Vinous	92		2021-03-30
2012	Mas d'En Gil	Coma Alta'	(80% garnacha blanca and 20% viognier): Bright straw. Tightly focused peach, pear and orange pith aromas are accented by anise and succulent herbs. Fresh citrus fruit and dried pear flavors are lifted by tangy acidity and show a refreshingly dry edge. Deepens on the incisive finish, picking up a minerally quality and showing very good focus and length. Fleshy and smooth, offering sappy melon and pit fruit flavors complemented by a subtle note of honeysuckle. Finishes with refreshing bitterness and good spicy cut, leaving a minerally quality behind. 2009	Mas d'En Gil	Clos Fontà Vinyes Velles'	(40% garnacha peluda, 30% garnacha and 30% carinena): Inky ruby. Sexy blackberry, cola and floral pastille aromas display very good energy and pick up a mineral nuance with air. Round and fleshy on the palate, offering gently sweet dark berry and spicecake flavors lifted by a mineral element. At once rich and lively, showing a silky texture and excellent depth. An expansive, heady bouquet displays scents of candied dark berries, licorice, violet pastille, woodsmoke and minerals; smells like a wine from the northern Rhone. Sweet, penetrating and seamless on the palate, offering vibrant blackberry and cherry-cola flavors and suggestions of bitter chocolate and candied licorice.
