Etna Rosso 'Guardoilvento' |
A rich display of black cherries, plums and exotic brown spice is wonderfully contrasted by a hint of sour citrus as the 2017 Etna Rosso Guardoilvento unfolds in the glass. This is deeply textural and soothing in feel, offering dark red and black fruits that take on a more savory edge as notes of wild herbs and white pepper form toward the close. It finishes lightly structured yet still classically dry, with inner rose notes and hints of tobacco lingering long. The 2017 Guardoilvento may not be a vintage for the ages, but it will provide some highly pleasurable drinking while we all wait for the 2016 to fully mature. |

Etna Rosso 'Ciauria' |
A pretty yet spicy bouquet of peppery wild herbs, roses and young strawberries rises from the 2019 Etna Rosso Ciauria. It’s fleshy in feel yet full of energy, as ripe red berries and minerals cascade across a core of zesty acidity. There’s so much lively personality and vivid fruit here as the Ciauria finishes with fresh blueberry and blackberries under an air of wet stone. |

La Fiorita |
Brunello di Montalcino |
This bold wine begins with aromas of berry, spice, violet, leather and a hint of meat juices. The juicy palate offers wild cherry accented with cinnamon-spice, white pepper and hints of mocha alongside solid tannins and the warmth of alcohol. Give this time to unwind and develop more depth and complexity. |

Brunello di Montalcino Riserva |
Mid Ruby. Heady, light-toned, just on the right side of volatile. Slightly porty. Quiet flattering and satisfying, but not very appetising. Pretty flashy! |

Commanderie de la Bargemone |
Coteaux d'Aix en Provence Rose |
Vivid orange-pink. Strawberry, orange zest and pungent flowers on the perfumed nose. Juicy red berry, citrus fruit and honeysuckle flavors show good depth and a bracing undercurrent of juicy acidity. Opens up slowly on the back half and finishes long and silky, with repeating florality and a refreshingly bitter touch of orange zest. |
