2017 Pietro Caciorgna Etna Rosso 'Guardoilvento' A rich display of black cherries, plums and exotic brown spice is wonderfully contrasted by a hint of sour citrus as the 2017 Etna Rosso Guardoilvento unfolds in the glass. This is deeply textural and soothing in feel, offering dark red and black fruits that take on a more savory edge as notes of wild herbs and white pepper form toward the close. It finishes lightly structured yet still classically dry, with inner rose notes and hints of tobacco lingering long. The 2017 Guardoilvento may not be a vintage for the ages, but it will provide some highly pleasurable drinking while we all wait for the 2016 to fully mature. Vinous 91 2021-06-15

There’s so much lively personality and vivid fruit here as the Ciauria finishes with fresh blueberry and blackberries under an air of wet stone. Vinous 90 2021-06-15
