Cornas Les Vieilles Fontaines |
The tiny production 2022 Cornas Les Vieilles Fontaines comes from the site of the estate’s oldest Syrah vines, an 80-year-old vineyard planted in granite soil. It's a sensational looking barrel sample that's going to rank with the top handful of wines in the appellation. Cassis, blueberries, spring flowers, game, and liquid violet notes are just some of its nuances, and it hits the palate with full-bodied richness, a layered, broad mouthfeel, and ripe yet certainly present tannins. It's going to need 3-5 years of cellaring but will evolve for two decades. |

Tezza |
Valpolicella Superiore 'Brolo delle Giare' |
A ripe and juicy expression that’s a little less concentrated than the 2019, but this has traded the jammy fruit for better freshness. A bit more detailed and fluid, with firm, chalky tannins and a lengthy finish. Sustainable. Drinkable now, but can hold. |

Spiced dried berries, citrus, dark chocolate, waffles and tar on the nose. Pretty full-bodied on the palate, with dried ripe berry fruit and figs lingering in a long and still juicy finish. Chocolate and bittersweet accents at the end. Drinkable now, but can hold well for another few years. |

Tezza |
Amarone della Valpolicella Valpantena Riserva 'Brolo delle Giare' |
Chocolate, rich sweet blackberries, bark, roasted spices and touches of moist earth and balsam on the nose. Structured and full-bodied with dusty tannins and a long, flavorful finish. Complex, concentrated and really long. Pretty hedonistic in style. Drinkable now, but it can keep holding. |
