Barolo ‘Le Coste di Monforte’ |
The 2020 Barolo Le Coste di Monforte is a powerful, dynamic wine. Macerated dark cherry, spice, leather, espresso and strong balsamic inflections all run through this brooding, strapping Barolo. I would give the 2020 a few years in bottle. There is certainly no lack of personality or character here. |

Barolo Rocche dell'Annunziata |
Made with fruit from La Morra, the 2018 Barolo Rocche dell'Annunziata (with 15% alcohol) shows sweet cherry and plum that is folded into spice, tar and leather. This is a mid-weight Barolo with integrated tannins and fresh acidity that keeps things bright. |

Barolo ‘Bussia’ |
The 2020 Barolo Bussia is a classy and understated to the core. Hints of kirsch, cinnamon, cedar, leather and orange peel give this mid-weight yet deep Barolo lovely aromatic intensity as well as a good bit of brightness. The 2020 exudes balance and class, not to mention quite a bit of appeal, even in the early going. |

Barolo 'Pressenda' |
The 2021 Barolo Pressenda is redolent of black cherry, cloves, licorice, leather, menthol and mocha. It offers notable depth in a succulent, forward style that can be enjoyed with minimal cellaring. |

Barolo 'Pressenda' |
The 2020 Barolo Pressenda is attractive, but it's also a touch light in depth and overall structure. Dried flowers, mint, pipe tobacco and cinnamon give the 2020 lovely aromatic presence to match its gentle, delicate personality. This is nicely done, if a bit soft. |

Barolo ‘Ravera’ |
The 2021 Barolo Ravera is another terrific wine from Marziano Abbona. Rose petal, chalk, mint, blood orange and cinnamon are beautifully delineated in this salivating, nervy Barolo. Brisk acids and beams of supporting tannin —signatures of this site—extend the mid-palate and finish effortlessly. |

Barolo ‘Bussia’ |
The ruby-colored 2020 Barolo Bussia lifts with ripe notes of mixed berries and cherry candies, toasted cedar, pressed flowers, and sweet herbs. It has a medium-bodied frame on the palate, with ripe concentration and good freshness, as well as refined tannins that turn a touch dusty on the finish. All in all, it’s a very nice wine to enjoy over the next 6-8 years. |
