Macerated dark cherry, spice, leather, espresso and strong balsamic inflections all run through this brooding, strapping Barolo. I would give the 2020 a few years in bottle. 2018	Andrea Oberto	Barolo Rocche dell'Annunziata	Made with fruit from La Morra, the 2018 Barolo Rocche dell'Annunziata (with 15% alcohol) shows sweet cherry and plum that is folded into spice, tar and leather. Hints of kirsch, cinnamon, cedar, leather and orange peel give this mid-weight yet deep Barolo lovely aromatic intensity as well as a good bit of brightness. 2020	Marziano Abbona	Barolo ‘Ravera’	The 2020 Barolo Ravera marries the energy of this site with the up-front early appeal of the year. 2020	Marziano Abbona	Barolo 'Cerviano Merli'	The 2020 Barolo Cerviano-Merli is soft, open-knit and very easy to like. Crushed flowers, herbs, mint, macerated cherry, cedar and sweet pipe tobacco give this mid-weight Barolo lovely aromatic presence. Rose petal, chalk, mint, blood orange and cinnamon are beautifully delineated in this salivating, nervy Barolo. 2021	Marziano Abbona	Barolo 'Cerviano Merli'	The 2021 Barolo Cerviano-Merli is a very pretty, classy wine. Lifted aromatics, sculpted fruit and mid-weight structure are some of the signatures. 2020	Silvano Bolmida	Barolo ‘Bussia’	The ruby-colored 2020 Barolo Bussia lifts with ripe notes of mixed berries and cherry candies, toasted cedar, pressed flowers, and sweet herbs. It has a medium-bodied frame on the palate, with ripe concentration and good freshness, as well as refined tannins that turn a touch dusty on the finish.
