Much more charming than the Corcelette, it shows exquisite delineation with perfumed, mineral-laced red fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-boned tannins, very focused with a touch of Indian spice toward the detailed finish. This has a long life ahead. 2020	Domaine du Pegau	Cuvee Reserve Rouge Chateauneuf-du-Pape	The 2020 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Réservée is one of the strongest vintages for this wine in recent history. It is magnificent, soaring from the glass with pungent aromas of crème de cassis, ripe raspberry and strawberry, cured meat, tobacco, licorice, iodine and garrigue. Full-bodied, vibrant to the core and offering a multidimensional profile, this wine is really, really good. 2021	La Fiorita	Rosso di Montalcino	The 2021 Rosso di Montalcino is a dark and brooding effort. Black cherries, cloves and hints of tobacco form its bouquet. 2023	Jean-Marc Burgaud	Morgon Cote du Py	The 2023 Morgon Côte du Py is the blend from six hectares of parcels from various contour lines upon the hill. It has a complex bouquet with mineral-driven red fruit, hints of iodine and pressed violet, wonderfully defined and focused. The palate is medium-bodied with a sapid entry and firm backbone, but this exudes tension and energy. Veins of blood orange run through the composed and persistent finish. Wonderful. 2019	La Ciarliana	Vino Nobile di Montepulciano 'Vigna Scianello'	The 2019 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Vigna 'Scianello opens with an airy freshness, blending earth tones and savory herbs with vivid black cherry and pine shavings. This is velvety in texture yet lifted and refined, with fleshy red berries and mineral tones excited by juicy acidity. A web of fine-grained tannins defines the finale, clamping down hard, yet through it all, the 2019 maintains energy and a core of primary fruit to balance. It has a classic, complex nose of ripe red and black fruits, peppery garrigue, and savory, sandalwood-like notes to go with medium-bodied richness and depth on the palate.
