2019	Glaetzer	Shiraz ‘Amon-Ra’	The 2019 Amon-Ra is classically styled thanks to its generous ripeness and fruit density. It is richly endowed with blackberry, chocolate and plum jam aromas and some spicy/earthy aged tones just beginning to emerge. A solid dark berry flavor impact follows, with tannins just starting to soften, putting this Shiraz in its peak drinking window. The superb length to finish is the icing on the cake. 2019	Glaetzer	Shiraz 'Bishop'	The 2019 Shiraz Bishop from Barossa delivers good levels of concentration and complexity. Licorice and blackberry jam aromas are dusted with white pepper spice. Quite fleshy and approachable, supple tannins are well-balanced and deliver a solid finish, accented with savory, meaty tones. Drinking well and will continue to do so for another five years. 2021	Di Giovanna	Nero d'Avola 'Vurria'	Enticing aromas of blackberry bush at first – just like smelling your hands after you’ve been blackberry picking. With air, eucalyptus and sea-urchin-like notes creep in and it’s these that go on to characterize the medium- to full-bodied palate, building through the finish. Fine, lightly firm tannins. 2021	Di Giovanna	Grillo 'Helios'	Lovely, inviting nose of pressed flowers, dried papaya and a twist of orange peel. Medium- to full-bodied with intense flavors of blood orange, orange cream and fresh papaya, riding a bed of relaxed, almost velvety minerals with a leesy touch. All in balance and offering plenty from start to finish. Delicious Grillo from high-altitude vineyards, partially matured in French oak barrels. From organically grown grapes. 2021	I Custodi	Etna Rosato 'Alnus'	Made with Nerello Mascalese and a small part Nerello Cappuccio, the organic I Custodi 2021 Etna Rosato Alnus shows a bright pink color with light shades of ruby and amber. The wine has a slightly macerated bouquet with cherry skin and almond that give it more fruit weight for sure and additional texture. You could drink this bottle with a fatty fish or one baked with sauce, cream or butter. It concludes with pretty freshness and a dusty mineral note.	Wine Advocate	90		2023-07-10
2017	I Custodi	Etna Rosso 'Aetneus'	The 2017 Etna Rosso Aetneus (a blend of 80% Nerello Mascalese and 20% Nerello Cappuccio from 90-year-old vines on the north flank of Etna) shows extra richness and concentration in this warm vintage. The wine opens to a medium dark color with soft cherry and blackcurrants. It feels plump and soft to the palate, and the tannins are tucked in nicely within the wine's soft texture. 2013	I Custodi	Etna Rosso 'Saeculare'	The I Custodi 2013 Etna Rosso Riserva Saeculare is a wine that stands out in this report. The bouquet is elegant and fine. The wine has evidently had ample time to flesh out and find balance with bottle aging. The tannins are silky and supple in texture. It drinks nicely right now, and there's no need to wait further. The blend has 80% Nerello Mascalese, but this Riserva also sees smaller percentages of Nerello Cappuccio, Alicante and other complementary grapes in the blend. These are ancient plants, a natural treasure to behold, with some vines reaching an almost unthinkable 250 years in age (on their original root stocks, of course) at 650 meters in elevation on the volcano. The wine ages slowly in tonneaux for four years and only 3,300 bottles of this precious wine exist.	Wine Advocate	95		2023-07-10
