2018 Domaine Vallet Saint Joseph Blanc 'Cuvee Meribets' The 2018 Saint Joseph Meribets Blanc is terrific, offering lots of spice citrus, white flower, and honeysuckle aromas and flavors. Medium-bodied, balanced, and graceful on the palate, it has good acidity, plenty of fruit, and the balance to keep for upwards of a decade. This cuvée is 80% Roussanne and 20% Marsanne and was brought up in equal parts tank and used barrels. Jeb Dunnuck 91 2020-12-11
2019 Domaine Vallet Saint Joseph Blanc 'Cuvee Meribets' The 2019 Saint Joseph Meribets Blanc is a more unusual blend for a Saint Joseph white, 80% Roussanne and 20% Marsanne. A beautifully balanced, elegant wine, it offers pretty crushed citrus and pineapple fruits, plenty of spice and honeyed flower nuances, medium-bodied richness, nicely integrated acidity, and a great finish. It's another outstanding white from this domaine that's well worth seeking out. Jeb Dunnuck 91 2020-12-11
2019 Di Giovanna Nerello Mascalese Rosato ‘Vurria’ This is a dry, medium-bodied rosé with notes of fresh raspberries, red apple skins and pomelo pith. Lightly waxy with some apricot stone and almond skin on the finish. Offers more on the nose than the palate, but delicious. Drink now. James Suckling 90 2020-12-08
2017 Pietro Caciorgna Etna Rosso 'Guardoilvento' Aromas of currants, smoke, orange peel, geraniums and hints of eucalyptus. It’s medium-bodied and juicy with lots of gently bitter citrus zest and spice. Sleek, refined tannins. Complex, yet so easy to drink. Drink from 2021. - #15 Top 100 Value Wines of 2020 James Suckling 97 2020-12-08
2016 Pietro Caciorgna Etna Rosso 'N'Anticchia' Currants, smoke, sandalwood and freshly ground coffee on the nose. It’s medium-to full-bodied with ultra fine, silky tannins. Such concentration and depth of fruit here. Lingering flavors of ripe peaches, currants, citrus and vanilla bean. Pretty amazing. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold. James Suckling 95 2020-12-08
2019 Pietro Caciorgna Etna Bianco 'Guardoilvento' White peach, lemon curd, cream and flint all interweave on the nose. It’s medium-bodied and creamy, yet with refreshing acidity. Lots of cream and smoke on the finish. Surprising depth and intensity. Drink or hold. James Suckling 94 2020-12-08
2019 Pietro Caciorgna Etna Rosso 'Ciauria' A medium-bodied red with aromas of stewed and dried strawberries, grapefruit zest, dried herbs, five spice and ash. More juicy red berries, citrus peel and herbal notes on the palate, framed by medium, silky tannins. Better from 2022, but already a joy to taste. James Suckling 94 2020-12-08
