2021 Morgan G17 Syrah The 2021 Syrah G 17 is a brooding, intense wine, its mid-weight structure notwithstanding. Dried herbs, menthol, licorice, lavender and blackberry all open in the glass. This is an especially earthy, savory style, with fruit that sits more in the background. Dollops of Mourvèdre and Grenache round out the blend. Vinous 92 2023-12-04
2022 Morgan Unoaked Chardonnay 'Metallico' Monterey The 2022 Chardonnay Metallico is a very pretty and expressive, un-oaked Chardonnay. Apricot, tangerine peel, mint and light tropical notes race out of the glass. The warm, dry year gave the Metallico an extra kick of richness that actually works quite well. Vinous 90 2023-12-04
2022 Morgan Chardonnay 'Highland' Santa Lucia Highlands The 2022 Chardonnay Highland is a classy, elegant wine. Ripe pear, apricot, yellow flowers, chamomile, spice and tangerine peel open nicely. The 2022 balances fruit intensity with brightness quite well. Soft contours wrap it all up in style. Vinous 90 2023-12-04
2021 Morgan Double L Vineyard' Chardonnay Santa Lucia Highlands The 2021 Chardonnay Double L Vineyard is bright and nicely focused. Savory and earthy notes give this textured, expressive Chardonnay tons of character. Readers will find a wine of subtlety more than of overt power. Give this a bit of time in the glass to open. It’s a very attractive wine that stands out from the more overt Chardonnays found elsewhere in the region. Vinous 93 2023-12-04
2022 Isabel Estate Sauvignon Blanc The 2022 Sauvignon Blanc is a little sweaty on the nose, with lemongrass and enoki mushroom, cilantro, layers of apple skins and brine. There's even a hint of kelp. In the mouth, the wine is concentrated and pure, with loads of flavor and structure. Very good. 13% alcohol, sealed under screw cap. Wine Advocate 91 2023-12-01
2018 La Fiorita Brunello di Montalcino This red falls squarely into the savory camp, with wild herb, Mediterranean scrub and earth aromas and flavors taking precedence over the cherry and red berry fruit. Gruff finish. Best from 2026 through 2043. 1,796 cases made, 218 cases imported. Wine Spectator 92 2023-11-21
2022 Jean-Marc Burgaud Morgon Les Charmes The 2022 Morgon Les Charmes has a perfumed, floral nose, later becoming spicier whilst retaining impressive delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with ripe tannins, fine structure with gentle grip. A little more savory style towards the finish with a persistent aftertaste. Excellent. Vinous 91-93 2023-11-20
2022 Jean-Marc Burgaud Morgon Grands Cras The 2022 Morgon Grands Cras has slight reduction on the nose. There's ample brambly red berry fruit and light marmalade scents, quite aromatic in style. The palate is medium-bodied with quite strict tannins on the entry and fine depth. Fresh and vibrant with a gentle grip on the finish. I appreciate the build of this Morgon. It shrugs off the warmth of the growing season with ease. Vinous 90-92 2023-11-20
2021 Jean-Marc Burgaud Morgon Cote du Py 'Javernieres' The 2021 Morgon Côte du Py Javernières was bottled after 12 months in used barrels plus four months in tank. This has a beautiful nose of wilted rose petal-infused vivacious red fruit and with time, touches of desiccated orange peel. The medium-bodied palate has ripe tannins, granular in texture, and very fine backbone, yet elegance from start to finish. This is a joyful, effervescent Javernières from one of its best exponents. Vinous 94 2023-11-20
2021 Jean-Marc Burgaud Morgon Cote du Py The 2021 Morgon Côte du Py, bottled at the end of July '22, comes from 6 hectares of vines. It has a fine, mineral-rich bouquet, more red than black fruit, a background flinty scent developing in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy dark berry fruit, quite firm and strict at the moment with fine grip on the finish. A more terse Côte du Py than other vintages, but it will repay 2-3 years cellaring. Vinous 90 2023-11-20
