Valtellina Superiore Valgella Riserva 'Carteria' |
The 2021 Valtellina Superiore Valgella Riserva Vigneto Carteria is soft, delicate and very pretty, all of which make it a fine choice for drinking now and over the next handful of years. Kirsch, mint, sweet red cherry, spice and vanillin all meld together. This soft, forward Valtellina is all charm. |

Valtellina Superiore 'Valgella' |
The 2023 Valtellina Superiore Valgella is airy, gracious and super expressive. Kirsch, mint, white pepper, herbs and mint are all finely knit. Silky contours and gorgeous mid-palate pliancy add to a feeling of finesse. This is very nicely done. |

Malbec Paraje Altamira |
In Argentina’s Uco Valley, a movement toward terroir is taking hold. In Argentina “paraje” translates to a specific place or spot, used here to represent the expression of a certain vineyard site. Paraje Altamira, where this wine comes from, was the first region in Argentina designated by soil composition rather than political boundaries. This wine embraces that philosophy, offering a beautiful, terroir-driven experience. The nose is earthy, with notes of mushroom and soil complemented by hints of aged balsamic. On the palate, it is composed and mineral-forward, featuring medium depth and fine tannins. The finish is lingering and savory. Voted VinePair's The Best Malbec From Argentina. |

Rosso di Montalcino |
The 2023 Rosso di Montalcino is perfumed in the glass, with crushed violets, blood orange and black cherries. This is deeply textural, silken and serene, with crisp acidity and citrus-laced wild berry fruits. The tart finish leaves a gentle inner tension and hints of black raspberry. |

Domaine Porte Rouge |
Chateauneuf du Pape |
Less floral than the 2021 but richer and suppler in style, Porte Rouge's 2022 Chateauneuf du Pape is full-bodied and creamy in texture, delivering lush waves of black cherry fruit and a long, velvety finish. It should be a beauty, but note that it's not scheduled to be bottled until October 2024. |
