2021 Dunham Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley The XXVII is a perennial contender for a top Washington State Cabernet value. At a lower ABV than many of the wines from the Columbia Valley appellation (13.7%), this wine exhibits nuanced fruit and spice on the nose, with notes of currants and ripe cherry flesh, as well as savoury rosehip oil. Freshly fruited on the palate, with great dusty minerality. Fresh strawberries, black cherries and a distinguishing note of garrigue leading to a savoury finish. Decanter 93 2026-03-06
2023 Dunham Three Legged Red' A value blend that comes from the best barrels and fruit selection of the Dunham Cellars wines. 2021 Dunham Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley The outstanding 2021 ‘Columbia Valley’ Cabernet Sauvignon was stored in 40% new French oak before bottling. This needs about 30 minutes of air for tannins to soften. Kirsch and sagebrush notes collide with espresso bean and shades of dark chocolate shavings on the palate. The combination of weight and finesse here makes this impeccably balanced. This is easily going to go for another fifteen years. Drink 2025-2040 Owen Bargreen 94 2026-03-06
2022 Dunham Red Blend 'Trutina' Columbia Valley The Trutina is a Merlot-based blend with Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Petit Verdot. Black fruits and a core of earthy minerality light up the glass with expressive aromatics. The palate is concentrated and lush, with ripe blackberry fruits, peppery notes of spice, and sandalwood lending this wine a notable oak influence. Structured and with sweet spices leading well into the finish. Decanter 91 2026-03-06
2024 Le Roi Le Roi Rouge Cabernet Sauvignon This would be a superb wine at three times the price, offering far more in flavor, texture and stability than most anything in its price class. Deep aromas of blackberry, peppercorn, woodspice and oregano lead from the nose into a rich palate that's lush but bone dry. Flavors of blue and red fruit are dusted in espresso and baking spice, finishing on a chocolate note. Best Buy. Wine Enthusiast 94 2026-03-03
2022 Domaine Yves Cheron Cotes du Rhone 'Les Dentelles' Black-cherry fruit leather meets violet, rose, and garrigue in a generous nose that is both refined and inviting. The palate is silky yet layered, balancing dried currant, licorice, flint, and a subtle meaty tone against supple texture. Sophisticated and complex, this is the kind of versatile bottle that impresses equally on casual game night or formal dinner. Serve at cellar temperature. Best Buy. Wine Enthusiast 91 2026-03-03
2024 Decibel Chardonnay Hawke’s Bay ‘Testify’ Lovely reductive struck match characters are present but not overwhelming on this small batch Chardonnay from ex-pat American Daniel Brennan. Toast, nougat, and nectarine soar, with weight and power to the palate but with freshness and a subtle core of fruit amid the toastier, more lactic characters. This could cellar for several more years but is drinking pretty darn beautifully right now. Wine Enthusiast 95 2026-03-03
2024 Decibel Sauvignon Blanc Crownthorpe Typical to Hawke's Bay, this is a lusher, more tropical-fruited Savvy B than those found in the South Island. Winemaker—and expat American—Daniel Brennan's wines always have that handcrafted, lo-fi appeal of small-batch winemaking. This single-vineyard bottling is no different. Spiced pineapple and peach, honeyed oatmeal, and ginger march to a palate that's less concentrated than the nose implies, but with a lovely balance of textural weight and mouthwatering acidity that makes this a pleasant drop outside the typical Savvy B canon. Hidden Gem. Wine Enthusiast 92 2026-03-03
2021 Decibel Red Blend Gimblett Gravels ‘Testify’ Inky in color, this blend of Malbec and Syrah has all the ripe, rich, hug-in-a-glass qualities you'd expect from the combo of these varieties. The pepper-sprinkled ripe dark berry fruit is etched in toasty, chocolate notes. Still quite primary and plump, it's a classic steak wine, but should gain more complexity with another several years in bottle. Wine Enthusiast 91 2026-03-03
