2020	Bhilar	Struggling Vines Phinca Hapa Blanco	Strictly speaking a white wine, but as it spends two months on its lees it is listed here with the orange wines. This is an original style, aiming to deliver all the character from the grape skins into the wine by extending the maceration period. 2022	Domaine de Fondrèche	Blanc AOP Ventoux	Based on 30% each Grenache Blanc, Roussanne, and Clairette with 10% Rolle that saw an extended cold soak after pressing, the 2022 Ventoux Domaine is incredibly aromatic with its exotic citrus, pink grapefruit, white flowers, and chalky mineral-driven nuances. These all carry to a very fresh, medium-bodied, focused, undeniably delicious white that has good acidity, plenty of richness, and a great finish. It's a singular, exotic, incredibly perfumed white. 2022	Domaine de Fondrèche	Il Était Une Fois	The 2022 Ventoux Il Était Une Fois is based on very old vine Grenache raised only in glass globes and amphora with 10% each of Syrah and Mourvèdre raised in new oak. It might be one of the greatest Grenaches to come from the Ventoux and offers an incredible bouquet of kirsch, black raspberries, spring flowers, and Provençal spices. 2022	Domaine de Fondrèche	Persia	I loved the 2022 Ventoux Persia, a pure, vibrant Ventoux based on mostly Syrah with 10% Mourvèdre. Ripe black, red, and blue fruit, lots of peppery herbs, violets, and floral notes, medium body, beautiful overall balance, and ripe, integrated tannins all make for a gorgeous 2022 that will drink nicely right out of the gate. 2020	Sierra Salinas	Monastrell 'Mira Salinas'	Coming from limestone soils and all Monastrell, raised in new, second, third, and fourth-use French oak barriques, the 2020 Mira Salinas Monastrell sports a vivid purple hue and offers remarkable purity in its crème de cassis, crushed violets, spice box, crushed stone, and graphite nuances. 2018	Elia Palazzesi	Brunello di Montalcino Riserva	Restrained and elegant nose of lemon leaves, kiwi peel, earthy strawberries, red cherries and subtle blood oranges. The lifted fruit is supported by fine tannins, a full body and good concentration, with long, refreshing acidity and a polished finish. Classy licorice aftertaste. Drinkable now, but best from 2028.
