2023 Domaine du Pegau Cotes du Rhone Blanc 'Cuvee Lone' The 2023 Côtes-du-Rhône Blanc Cuvée Lône mixes 40% Clairette with 30% Bourboulenc, 20% Grenache Blanc and 10% Ugni Blanc. Bottled in February 2024, it opens with vivid honeysuckle, ripe pear, green apple and lemon flesh aromatics. Well-balanced and refreshing, the 2023 closes with good energy on the lively finish. 2022 Domaine Jean Royer Chateauneuf-du-Pape 'Les Sables de la Crau' Pine tree, licorice, ripe strawberry and raspberry aromas introduce the refined 2022 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Les Sables de la Crau. Showing absolutely no rough edges, this is a magnificent single-varietal Grenache that frames solid flavor concentration alongside refreshing acidity. Full-bodied and focused, the 2022 culminates in a refined finish of great persistence. Vinous 93 2024-06-13
2022 Domaine du Pegau Cuvee Reserve Rouge Chateauneuf-du-Pape The 2022 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Réservée showcases ripe red and black fruits amid spice box, crushed violet and licorice aromatics. Concentrated and layered, the grippy tannins demand at least five more years to integrate into the wine. That said, I don’t think it will be able to match the more complete 2020, but the ultimate test awaits after bottling. Readers should note that there will be no Cuvée Da Capo in 2022, mainly due to crop-reducing hail damage. Vinous 93-95 2024-06-13
2021 Domaine du Pegau Cuvee Reserve Rouge Chateauneuf-du-Pape Luckily, the 2021 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Réservée didn’t show any of the signs of reduction that it did when I first tasted it from barrel last year. Although not cruising at the same level as the two surrounding vintages, the 2021 offers a distinctively elegant character marked by garrigue, red/black cherry and undertones of meat and herbs. Round tannins gently structure this medium-bodied Cuvée Réservée that wraps up with a savory finish. Vinous 92 2024-06-13
2023 Meadowcroft Pinot Noir Anderson Valley Strawberry, black raspberry, plum, and cranberry, complemented by pepper spice, some floral notes, chocolate and toasty oak. On the palate this wine showcases the darker side of these fruits, along with a good dose of dark chocolate, pepper spice and oak on the long, lingering finish. justwinepoints.com 95 2024-06-07
NV L'Ormarins Brut Classique Rosé The NV Brut Rosé Classique L'Ormarins has a lovely nose of red cherries and fish scale aromas, focused and quite sophisticated. The palate is well defined, with a brisk, citric entry, and quite peachy in style. A hint of spice appears on the finish. This is excellent value for money. Vinous 90 2024-06-06
2022 Domaine de Fondrèche Rouge The big black fruit has excellent youthful freshness and the tannins are enough to give this full-bodied Rhone red a very clear line, but are not in the least dominant. A touch of tar and soot add interest to this bold wine. Long, firm finish with a hint of stony character. A cuvee of grenache, syrah and mourvedre from organically grown grapes. Matured in a mix of foudres and eggs. Drink or hold. James Suckling 91 2024-06-06
NV L'Ormarins Brut Classique Rosé Focused and refined with small berries and baking spices on the nose. Medium body with fine bubbles. Focused and well-made with a flavorful finish. Drink now. James Suckling 90 2024-06-06
2022 Dunham Three Legged Red Made from equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah, this was stored in almost all neural oak before bottling. Tar and anise combine with rich dark fruits and chocolate on the nose. The palate is fresh and shows good viscosity on the palate. Polished and showing good balance, this medium bodied effort is already showing beautifully right now. A steal at only twenty dollars. Drink 2024-2029 Owen Bargreen 91 2024-06-05
