2016 Domaine Vallet Saint Joseph Meribets Juicy, confected plum fruit and a light sprinkling of piquant spice. Fibrous but digestible tannin. Lightly chewy and perhaps a little dilute to finish. Jancis Robinson 16.5 2018-01-30
2016 Domaine Vallet Saint Joseph Muletiers Oak spice, black fruit, violet floral notes. Glossy and sleek on the palate, but with fine tannin giving firmness to the finish. Jancis Robinson 16 2018-01-30
2015 Alain Voge Saint-Peray Fleur de Crussol I always love this cuvée, and the 2015 Saint-Péray Fleur De Crussol might be the best yet. Brioche, honeycomb, crushed rock-like minerality and sautéed stone fruits give way to a rich, concentrated, beautifully textured white that has richness and freshness. Made from 100% Marsanne all from the La Côte lieu-dit, it spent 13 months in 30% new barrels. Jeb Dunnuck 93 2018-01-30
2016 Alain Voge Saint-Peray Fleur de Crussol The 2016 Saint-Péray Fleur De Crussol is young, tight and hard to read (which is normal for this cuvée). Apple blossom, citrus rind and hints of minerality emerge from this nicely concentrated, fresh, crisp white that's going to need a year or more of cellaring to show its potential. 2015 Alain Voge Cornas Les Chailles The young(er) vine cuvée is the 2015 Cornas Les Chailles which comes from the Chaillot, Mazards, Chapuze, and Combe lieux-dits. It’s all destemmed and brought up in older barrels. It offers terrific black fruits, saddle leather, bouquet garni and floral/violet aromas and flavors, full-bodied richness, plenty of sweet tannin and a great finish. It's going to be a terrific value. Jeb Dunnuck 92 2018-01-30
2016 Alain Voge Cornas Les Chailles The 2016 Cornas Les Chailles offers a forward, fruity style in its blackberry, plum, and violet aromas and flavors, yet has ample mid-palate depth and building tannin on the palate. As with all Albéric’s wines, it has sensational purity of fruit. Jeb Dunnuck 91-94 2018-01-30
2015 Alain Voge Saint Joseph Les Cotes In addition to the stellar lineup from Cornas, Voge releases a terrific Saint Joseph. All from the Les Cotes lieu-dit outside of Mauves, the 2015 Saint Joseph Les Côtes sports a deep purple color as well as lots of black and blue fruits, some forest floor and tapenade notes, a ripe, sexy, voluptuous style on the palate, and terrific purity of fruit. It’s another beautiful wine from this estate, which is clearly at the top of their game. Jeb Dunnuck 92 2018-01-30
2016 Alain Voge Saint Joseph Les Cotes Tasted out of barrel, the 2016 Saint Joseph Les Côtes is terrific, with lots of currants, violets, and peppery aromas and flavors. Classic in just about every sense, with medium-bodied richness, pure, clean fruit, lots of minerality and a great finish, it has the fruit to drink nicely in its youth, yet should keep for a decade or more given its balance, purity and tannin. Jeb Dunnuck 91-93 2018-01-30
2016 Alain Voge Cornas Les Vieilles Vignes Voge's old vine cuvée, the 2016 Cornas Les Vieilles Vignes is a head turner that balances loads of clean, classic Syrah fruit with the textbook pepper, mineral and garrigue character that's the hallmark of the appellation. Full-bodied, elegant and balanced, with present yet fine tannin, it's going to be accessible in its youth, yet cruise for 10-15 years given its balance. Jeb Dunnuck 93-95 2018-01-30
2014 Rocca di Castagnoli Chainti Classico DOCG French oak, underbrush, balsamic aromas, coconut and baked plum aromas are front and center on this radiant, structured red. Made entirely with organically farmed Sangiovese, the savory, elegant palate delivers wild cherry, pomegranate, baking spice and a hint of orange zest. Firm, polished tannins and fresh acidity provide age-worthy support and balance. Drink 2019–2029. Wine Enthusiast 92 2018-01-24
