2018 Domaine Les Rocailles Apremont Jacquere Sporting a beautiful crystalline nose of citrus, crushed rocks, white flowers, and rocky, stony notes, the medium-bodied 2018 Apremont offers bright, juicy acidity, and terrific balance. With a beautiful sweetness of fruit, a dry, clean finish, and loads of upfront charm, I’d be happy to drink a glass over the coming year or so. Jeb Dunnuck 90 2019-09-16
2018 Commanderie de la Bargemone Rose Coteaux d'Aix en Provence The 2018 Coteaux D'Aix En Provence Rosé is also terrific. Based on Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Cinsault, and Vermin, it has clean, crisp notes of white peach, salty minerality, and white flowers as well as a medium-bodied, balanced, chiseled style on the palate. It’s another smoking good wine from this estate. Jeb Dunnuck 91 2019-09-16

2017 Domaine Cabirau Cotes du Rousillon A blend of 50% Grenache, 30% Carignan, and the rest Syrah all from black, schist soils in the Roussillon, the 2017 Côtes Du Roussillon is another beautiful wine from importer Dan Kravitz that represents a terrific value. Black raspberries, crushed flowers, spice, and hints of pepper all emerge from this medium-bodied, sweetly fruited, elegant red that's just a joy to drink. It should keep nicely for 5-6 years. 2017 Landmark Vineyards Overlook Pinot Noir This blend of Pinot Noir from Monterey County (65%), Santa Barbara County (18%) and Sonoma County (17%) begins with aromas of boy-senberry, dried lilac and turned earth on the nose. There is a focused intensity on the palate, with more berry flavors as well as pie crust, loamy earth and a pinch of mint. Wine Enthusiast 91 2019-09-16
2017 Domaine Cabirau Serge & Nicolas Maury Sec A smaller production cuvée, the 2017 Maury Sec Serge & Marie checks in as 70% Grenache, 20% Carignan, and 10% Syrah that was brought up in a mix of foudre and used barrels. It's also the first vintage for new winemaker Marie Verges as well as the first vintage to ever see small barrels, which were purchased from Guigal in the Northern Rhône. Deep purple-colored with a smoky, meaty bouquet of black fruits, licorice, crushed rocks, and black olives, it’s rich, full-bodied, beautifully textured, and layered on the palate, with ripe tannins. This fleshy, expansive barrel sample has tons of potential. Jeb Dunnuck 92-94 2019-09-16
2017 Chateau Lancyre Coste d'Aleyrac Pic Saint Loup Blackberries, ground pepper, dried earth and peppered meat notes all dominate the 2017 Pic Saint Loup Coste D'Aleyrac, a ripe, rounded, complex, almost Northern Rhône-like red to drink over the coming 7-8 years. The blend is 50% Syrah, 40% Grenache, and 10% Carignan, brought up all in tank. Jeb Dunnuck 92 2019-09-16
2017 Chateau Lancyre Vielles Vignes Coteaux du Languedoc The first vintage of this cuvée after the 2015 due to a disastrous hailstorm, the 2017 Pic Saint Loup Vieilles Vignes is a blend of 65% Syrah and 35% Grenache that was vinified and aged all in stainless steel. Blackberries, earth, tapenade, and peppery garrigue notes flow to a medium to full-bodied, nicely textured, layered red that has tons of character. Coming from the oldest vines of the estate, it can be drunk today with ample pleasure or cellared for a decade. Jeb Dunnuck 92 2019-09-16
2017 Nicodemi Notari D'Abruzzo Montepulciano Teramane DOCG A plush nose with loads of dark-cherry compote, vanilla and eucalyptus. Full-bodied and big on the palate with exuberant tannins and lots of fruit, but some acidity to keep this in check. Still, less could have been more. Drink in 2022. James Suckling 92 2019-09-13
