Tasting Notes
The first vintage of this cuvée after the 2015 due to a disastrous hailstorm, the 2017 Pic Saint Loup Vieilles Vignes is a blend of 65% Syrah and 35% Grenache that was vinified and aged all in stainless steel. Blackberries, earth, tapenade, and peppery garrigue notes flow to a medium to full-bodied, nicely textured, layered red that has tons of character. Coming from the oldest vines of the estate, it can be drunk today with ample pleasure or cellared for a decade.
