2016 Mas d'En Gil Coma Vella' 2016 was a very good overall vintage in Priorat, and for Mas d'en Gil, it was considered exceptional. They are releasing their two top reds from this vintage, starting with the expressive, powerful, mature and polished 2016 Coma Vella, which is very harmonious and shows developed aromas and subtle flavors. It has the rusticity of Priorat and the elegance of the balanced vintages with time in bottle. Wine Advocate 94 2022-10-05
2018 Andrea Oberto Barolo Some rich berry and mild-spice character. Medium-bodied with slightly chewy tannin that emerges at the end. A bit heady, but should drink well from 2024. James Suckling 91 2022-10-03
2018 Andrea Oberto Barolo Rocche dell'Annunziata Intense, medium-bodied Barolo with a prominent, cedary edge to the red berries. The tannins are fine and firm up the finish slightly. Spicy throughout. Lightly firm, tasty and racy. The substance is there, but needs time to expand in all directions. Try from 2024. James Suckling 92 2022-10-03
2016 Punset Barbaresco Basarin Riserva Beautiful aromas of crushed wild strawberry, tangerine, black olives, lead pencil, and shiitake mushroom. Full-bodied with firm and polished tannins that run the length of the wine. Just opening now. Drink or hold. James Suckling 94 2022-10-03
2015 Punset Barbaresco Riserva 'Campo Quadro' Ripe plums, ripe strawberries with some vanilla and cedar. Full-bodied with chewy tannins. Wood comes through still. A structured and big wine. Plenty of fruit at the end. Try after 2025. James Suckling 93 2022-10-03
2016 La Fiorita Brunello di Montalcino Riserva A single vineyard expression from Pian Bossolino, La Fiorita’s Riserva was picked on 10 October. It comes across as very ripe in its aromas of wild black cherry and exotically spiced plum. Traces of smoke interject. There is a stony undertow on the mid-palate countering the boisterous mix of red and black fruit. A full-bodied, southern Brunello, this is well-proportioned and elegant in tannins. It finishes delectably sappy. Among the many overhauls this estate has made in the last few years, La Fiorita began working with renowned consultant Maurizio Castelli in 2016. Decanter 94 2022-09-27
2017 La Fiorita Brunello di Montalcino La Fiorita opted not to release the estate’s selection ‘Fiore di NO’ in 2017, nor did they make a Riserva bottling. As such, the backbone of this wine hails from their prized Pian Bossolino vineyard. An extroverted greeting delivers sunbaked Mediterranean herbs, ripe plum and a pleasant back note of minty chocolate. The palate is laden with plump black cherries and framed by soft supple tannins. Full-figured yet balanced, this forward, unpretentious Brunello is immediately accessible and will give plenty of cheer for the next five to six years. Decanter 91 2022-09-27
2017 La Fiorita Brunello di Montalcino La Fiorita is part of a large group of boutique, artisanal producers who operate in Montalcino and contribute to the town's lively wine scene. The 2017 Brunello di Montalcino is light and silky in texture with cherry, earth and dried violets. The bouquet is delicate and so is the palate, save for that powerful 15% alcohol. This wine is a blend of fruit from the Collosorbo (Poggio al Sole), Pian Bossolino and Giardinello vineyards. Production is 20,000 bottles. Wine Advocate 92 2022-09-27
2016 La Fiorita Brunello di Montalcino 'Fiore di NO' We wanted to make a selection of our grapes.' No = Natalie Oliveros. This is a blend of all their three vineyards. Deep lustrous ruby. Huge nose of cherry with gentle, complex oak notes. Rich yet compact and with perfectly integrated acidity. This is big, but not brutal. Long, lush and juicy with a tannic kick on the finish and hints of gingerbread. Youthful sweetness indicates this needs more time in bottle. Jancis Robinson 17 2022-09-27
2017 La Fiorita Brunello di Montalcino Lustrous ruby. Deep cherry nose with sweet-spicy notes while a hint of gingerbread adds a sense of richness. Bags of ripe, succulent cherry fruit and chewy, but not rough tannins clinging to the fruit. Dramatic, long tannic fruit finish. Jancis Robinson 16.5 2022-09-27
