2022	Jean-Marc Burgaud	Morgon Grands Cras	The 2022 Morgon Grands Cras has slight reduction on the nose. There's ample brambly red berry fruit and light marmalade scents, quite aromatic in style. The palate is medium-bodied with quite strict tannins on the entry and fine depth. Fresh and vibrant with a gentle grip on the finish. I appreciate the build of this Morgon. 2019	Valderiz	Juegabolos	Plenty of fine oak spices and incense come through, along with rich blackberries. Rich, concentrated and very full-bodied on the palate, but quite fresh and juicy. Super tight, but fine-grained. Lengthy and taut finish. From organically grown grapes. Too young. Not for now. 2017	Marqués de Tomares	Reserva	If you have an emotional connection to Rioja, you’ll find this offers lovely textural pleasures, its light tannins pushing against the red fruit, pungent and seductive—like sweet fern and woodland notes of mushrooms, as one taster described its scent. 2020	Valderiz	Valderiz	The 2020 Valderiz is mostly Tempranillo with a 5% dash of Albillo from Roa, Ribera del Duero and was aged 20 months in 80% French and 20% American barrels. Garnet-red in the glass. The ripe, balsamic nose showcases thyme, plum and oak aromas. Dry and clingy, the reactive tannins make for a structured flow.	Vinous	90		2023-11-16
2022	Ghost Corner	The Bowline White Blend	The 2022 Ghost Corner Bowline has quite a perfumed bouquet with Granny Smiths and kiwi fruit, well-defined yet understated. The palate is well-balanced, the 30% Semillon imparting texture, the 70% Sauvignon, race. Fresh with fine weight towards the finish, this is a classy white blend that will be difficult to resist. 2022	Ghost Corner	Wild Ferment Sauvignon Blanc	The 2022 Sauvignon Blanc Ghost Corner Wild Ferment includes 20% whole bunches and matured in barrel for 14 months. It has a fresh nose with freshly sliced pear, asparagus, bell pepper and nettle. The wild ferment side is kept under a tight leash compared to its peers. The palate is well-balanced with a vibrant, lively, focused entry, with an attractive underlying pepperiness driving the finish. Very fine.	Vinous	91		2023-11-15
2022	Domaine du Pegau	Cuvee Reserve Blanc Chateauneuf-du-Pape	The 2022 Châteauneuf Du Pape Cuvée Réservée Blanc showed beautifully, with an exotic, tropical style in its honeyed orange, melon, minty herb, and tangerine-like nuances. It's medium-bodied, has a round, layered mouthfeel, good acidity, and a great finish. The classic cuvée here is based largely on Clairette (60%) yet includes smaller amounts of Grenache Blanc, Roussanne, and Bourboulenc, and it’s raised all in stainless steel. 2022	Domaine Yves Cheron	Vacqueyras 'Cuvee Jardin d'Eden'	An even split of Grenache and Syrah, Yves' 2022 Vacqueyras Jardin D'Eden is medium ruby-hued with attractive red plum and mulled strawberry fruit interwoven with peppery herbs, sandalwood, and spice. 2021	Domaine Jean Royer	Chateauneuf-du-Pape 'Prestige' Rouge	The 2021 Châteauneuf Du Pape Prestige from Jean-Marie is a juicy, elegant wine in the vintage that has lots of savory strawberry and mulled cherry-like fruits as well as medium-bodied richness and depth, solid, peppery garrigue aromatics, fine tannins, and outstanding length. 2021	Domaine Jean Royer	Chateauneuf-du-Pape 'Les Sables de la Crau'	All Grenache from pure sand soils, the 2021 Châteauneuf Du Pape Les Sables De La Crau is a hidden gem in the vintage that has plenty of pretty kirsch, dried flower, and loamy soil-like notes in a medium-bodied, nicely balanced, elegant, yet still textured style.
