2019 Elia Palazzesi Brunello di Montalcino Aromas of black cherries and red flowers followed by a touch of baking spices with toasty undertones. Medium- to full-bodied with fine tannins that last for a long time. Best after 2026. James Suckling 92 2025-06-12
2024 Reynier Bordeaux Blanc Produced by Marc and Agnès Lurton, of one of the great Bordeaux wine-growing families, from a vineyard situated in Grezillac, in Bordeaux’s famed Entre-deux-Mers region, planted on slopes in outstanding clay-limestone terroir. This lovely, dry, crisp and fruity wine, made from a blend of Sauvignon, Semillon and Muscadelle shows elegant aromas of grapefruit, mango and pineapple, with well-balanced acidity and richness on the palate. 2020 Vieux Chevrol Lalande de Pomerol A new wine for me, the 2020 Vieux Chevrol is fabulous. Readers will find a classically built, midweight Lalande de Pomerol that emphasizes energy and focus more than volume, as is often the case in this appellation. Inky fruit, gravel, rose petal, spice, mint and mocha are all finely cut. This is a gorgeous wine. Vinous 90-92 2025-06-12
2022 Jeff Carrel La Tire' Fitou A blend of 60% Carignan and 40% Syrah, the 2022 Fitou La Tire reveals a deeper ruby/purple hue as well as ripe aromatics of black cherries, mulberries, licorice, leather, and peppery herbs. This medium to full-bodied, nicely textured, mouth-filling red has ripe tannins and a great finish. A classy, balanced fruit bomb, it’s going to drink nicely right out of the gate. 2022 Rocca di Castagnoli Chianti Classico The 2022 Chianti Classico is a serious wine. Dark red-toned fruit, leather, spice, tobacco and menthol give this fruity, deep Chianti Classico tons of sheer appeal. The aromatics are a bit open, suggesting the 2022 is best enjoyed over the near and medium term. This is very nicely done. Vinous 91 2025-06-10
2022 Jeff Carrel La Tire' Fitou A juicy, straightforward and textured red with berries, herbs, bay leaves and some baking spices as well, following through to a medium- to full-bodied with plush tannins. Dense and rich, with berries and cocoa powder. Textured and compact at the center, but it remains balanced and vivid, with a lift of spice towards the end. From organically grown grapes. Drink now. 2022 Domaine du Pegau Cuvee Reserve Rouge Chateauneuf-du-Pape Showing a solid step up over last year, the 2022 Châteauneuf Du Pape Cuvée Reservée is a ripe, sexy, incredibly complex Pégau that's just about overflowing with red and black fruits, herbes de Provence, pepper, and leather-like aromatics. Reminding me slightly of a more elegant, less concentrated example of the 2009, it has full-bodied richness, a broad, layered mouthfeel, and a great finish. It's already hard to resist yet should evolve nicely for 15-20 years if well stored. Jeb Dunnuck 94-96 2025-06-09
2022 Domaine du Pegau Cuvee Reserve Rouge Chateauneuf-du-Pape A quick assemblage from foudres of the 2022 Châteauneuf du Pape Cuvée Réservée reveals a dark-fruited, spicy style, enlivened by hints of violets and garrigue. Full-bodied, rich and densely concentrated, with a long, silky finish, it looks to be a near-carbon copy of the stunning, cellar-worthy 2019. Wine Advocate 95-97 2025-06-09
2023 Meadowcroft Pinot Noir Russian River This Pinot gives layers of candied raspberry and cherry aromas on the nose, with flavors of strawberry licorice, quince and candied lemon peel on the palate. This easy to drink Pinot will be great with a light chill in warmer weather. Wine Enthusiast 91 2025-06-06
