Smooth and expansive on the palate, offering appealingly sweet raspberry and boysenberry flavors and a hint of vanilla. The smoke and cherry notes echo on the youthfully tannic finish, which shows sharp delineation and strong persistence. 2016	Rocca di Castagnoli	Chianti Classico DOCG	The 2016 Chianti Classico offers a super-appealing combination of dense, pliant fruit and supporting structure. Succulent red cherry, white pepper, mint and dried flowers all flesh out in the glass. Ideally, readers should plan on cellaring the 2016 for at least a few years. This is a very serious wine. 2014	Rocca di Castagnoli	Poggio ai Frati Chianti Classico DOCG Riserva	The 2014 Chianti Classico Riserva Poggio a'Frati is a powerful, virile wine. Readers will have to be patient, as the 2014 is quite imposing today. Iron, smoke, tobacco, wild red cherry and rose petal are enshrouded by a wall of potent, sinewy tannins and bright acids.
