2016	Morgan Winery	Pinot Noir Double L Vineyard	Another head-turner is the 2016 Pinot Noir Double L, which was also destemmed and spent ten months in 50% new oak. It’s a tight, vibrant, youthful effort offering medium-bodied notes of blackberry and black cherry fruits intermixed with plenty of spice, scorched earth, and background oak. 2015	Carol Shelton	Wild Thing Zinfandel	A wonderful, deep blackberry-jam aroma and equally expressive fruit flavors on the palate give this wine a lot of enjoyment. 2014	Carol Shelton	Karma Reserve Sonoma County	This blends 70% Zinfandel with 14% Petite Sirah, 6% Alicante Bouschet, 6% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Carignane and 2% Viognier. 2018	Barker's Marque	The Loop Sauvignon Blanc Awatere Valley	The iconic New Zealand aromatics draw you in with tart gooseberry and grapefruit. Grown in dry, windy cool-climate conditions, the acidity is striking, with notes of crisp lime “ice,” which melts across the palate. Tarragon and brushy notes get a hint of spice darting on the palate, but the overall texture (some weight from 3% of the wine fermented in old oak) is superb. 2014	Ramirez de la Piscina	Seleccion Reserva	(raised in new and used French and American oak barrels for 16 months) Opaque ruby color. Smoke- and spice-accented red and dark berry liqueur and licorice aromas are complemented by black pepper and mocha nuances. Smooth and expansive on the palate, offering appealingly sweet raspberry and boysenberry flavors and a hint of vanilla. 2015	Ramirez de la Piscina	Crianza	(aged for 15 months in new and used American and French oak barrels) Deep ruby. Smoke-accented cherry, pipe tobacco, vanilla and floral scents show very good clarity and spicy lift. Juicy and energetic on the palate, offering bitter cherry, redcurrant, rose pastille and vanilla flavors that deepen and pick up a coconut nuance as the wine opens up. Bright and sharply focused on the nose, displaying fresh citrus fruit and floral scents and a strong suggestion of dusty minerals.
