2006 Champagne Thiénot La Vigne aux Gamins From an old vineyard in Avize, this is produced every year and there’s a lot of character in the 2006. Aromas of ripe, exotic tropical fruit, as well as lemons and a hint of toasted coconut. The palate has a lot of pastry-like flavors. Biscuity and powerful with rich, fleshy fruit on the finish. A lot of brioche here, building toasty warmth. Another two-to-three years will take it even more in this direction. Very vinous. Very unique! James Suckling 94 2019-06-24

It smells of cedar fronds and lavender and tastes of berries and earth, with a cool-stone feel that makes it refreshing. Best Buy Wine & Spirits 90 2019-06-24
