Red Blend 'Bear Cub' Columbia Valley |
Barrel notes are upfront, with aromas of vanilla, cocoa and spice followed by plum and cherry. A flavorful palate follows, intertwining fruit and barrel that stay together seamlessly through the finish. |

Enveloping aromas of melon and papaya meld with spicy elements of crushed pink peppercorn and ginger on the nose. The silken palate shows creamy melon and peach flavors, studded with kicks of fiery spice and orange blossom. The floral tones linger gracefully on the finish. |

Domaine Gerard Neumeyer |
Riesling 'Hospices' |
The merest whiff of passion fruit is all that escapes on the shy nose of this wine. The palate comes in with scented, lemony freshness and easy lightness. There is proper concentration but an inherent coolness, too, alongside a slightly pithy texture that will allow this wine to evolve. Drink now–2030. |

Cantina Plani Arche |
Montefalco Rosso |
Crushed black cherry, wild herbs, balsamic spice and hints of undergrowth come together to form a dark and moody bouquet on the 2015 Plani Arche Montefalco Rosso. On the palate, silky textures usher in fleshy ripe red fruit, as zesty acids add vibrancy, and a mix of sweet minerals and tannin slowly saturates the senses. The finish is long, teeming with energetic wild berry fruits and spice, with a twang of salty minerals contrasting a tug of grippy tannin. I find myself enamored of this wine and its unique blend which really shines through: 60% Sangiovese, 25% Barbera and 15% Sagrantino, all in perfect balance. |

Waiana Estate |
Rose 'Summer Sault' |
Fabulously elegant, the wine shows white flesh nectarine, crunchy apple, lemon peel and white floral aromas on the nose with a hint of sweet strawberry. It's juicy, lively and vibrant on the palate, delivering pristine fruit flavours together with fine texture and bright acidity, finishing delightfully long and refreshing. At its best: now to 2022. |

Chateau de Lancyre |
Languedoc Rose |
Previous vintages were sold as Pic Saint Loup, but I suppose production of the 2019 Languedoc Le Rosé has expanded. It's still a blend of 50% Syrah, 40% Grenache and 10% Cinsault, with a medium-pink hue in the glass and attractive aromas of cherries, pineapple and grapefruit. It's full-bodied for a rosé—sitting at 14+% alcohol and showing some serious ripeness and weight on the palate—but it remains refreshing and lively on the citrusy finish. |

Commanderie de la Bargemone |
Coteaux d'Aix en Provence Rose |
Very pale pink. Showing an effusive bouquet of rose petals, gardenia, and red berries, this is a good example of Provence rosé. The wine is light and lively with brisk acidity and good depth of flavor on a perfumed palate. It has a crisp, lingering finish. Direct pressing, no maceration. 3 weeks fermentation at 55°F. No malolactic fermentation. 40% Grenache, 30% Syrah, 10% Rolle, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Counoise, 5% Carignan. |
