Chateauneuf du Pape - Prestige |
The 2016 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Prestige is the only wine to include significant portions of Mourvèdre (85% Grenache and 15% Mourvèdre), partially destemmed and aged in a mix of demi-muids, barrels, and concrete tanks. It has a darker, slightly more reserved bouquet of blackberries, peppery herbs, graphite, and scorched earth. It's rich, powerful, concentrated and textured, yet also beautifully balanced and pure, with fine tannin. Give bottles a year or three, and it's going to cruise for a decade. |

Chateauneuf du Pape - Sables de la Crau |
The 2015 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Les Sables de La Crau is 100% Grenache from the sandy part of the famed La Crau lieu-dit. It offers terrific notes of wild strawberries, currants, dried flowers and spice, full-bodied richness, sweet, polished tannin and a great finish. While this vintage was difficult for the sandy terroirs, this cuvée is impressive! |

Chateauneuf du Pape - Prestige |
Bright-hued ruby. Mineral-accented raspberry, cherry liqueur and garrigue aromas are complicated by subtle game and incense nuances. Silky, focused and alluringly sweet, offering pliant red and blue fruit preserve, spicecake and floral pastille flavors that in no way show that this wine is wine is from warm year. Finishes sappy, sweet and extremely long, with suave, well-knit tannins and resonating floral and spice notes. |

Chateauneuf du Pape - Tradition |
Dark bright-rimmed red. Highly perfumed red fruit and floral aromas show excellent clarity and a building mineral nuance. Sweet and seamless on the palate, offering intense raspberry and boysenberry flavors that deepen steadily as the wine opens up. On the weighty side as this bottling goes, much as is the case with its 2015 sibling, but there's no lack of vivacity here. Finishes very long and spicy, with fine-grained tannins lending shape and closing grip. |

Côte-Rôtie Montmain |
Deep, lurid ruby. Powerful, mineral-accented cherry and blackberry scents, along with suggestions of smoked meat, licorice, potpourri and pungent flowers. Deeply concentrated but energetic on the palate, offering deeply concentrated black and blue fruit preserve flavors that become sweeter with air. Closes impressively long, sappy and sweet, with juicy acidity adding lift and cut to the blue-fruit driven, youthfully tannic finish. |

Cabernet Sauvignon Three Acre |
Composed of 96% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Petit Verdot, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Three Acre has a deep garnet-purple color and is beautifully perfumed of candied violets, Ceylong tea, underbrush and cigar box scents with a core of blackcurrant cordial, redcurrant jelly and black raspberries. Medium to full-bodied, elegantly styled and very polished on the palate, it has an exquisitely fine-grained texture and long harmonious finish. |

Sinewy in leather, black currant and black tea, this wine is structured in tannin and oak, complex and appealing in moderate richness and ripeness. The finish is soft and lingering in baking spice. |

A Bordeaux blend with a very fruit-driven, medium-bodied and fresh, Chilean style, the supple tannins gently building on the finish. A blend of 51 per cent cabernet sauvignon, 19 per cent carmenere, 13 per cent cabernet franc, 10 per cent petit verdot and seven per cent syrah. |

OPR Sauvignon Blanc |
Fragrant, fresh herb aromas and a good, crisp texture give an assertive appeal to this medium-bodied well-balanced unoaked wine. It shows tons of varietal character in the scents of rosemary, parsley and thyme, and the bright citrus flavors. Best Buy. |

Cotes du Crow's |
This blend of 66% Grenache, 31% Syrah and 3% Tempranillo is slightly effervescent in the glass at this young age, delivering aromas of red currant, hibiscus and crushed gravel. Cranberry and cherry meet with stony acidity on the zesty and fresh palate. Editors’ Choice. |
