2015 Le Cadeau Pinot Noir ‘Equinoxe’ Chehalem Mountains Vivid red. Ripe red and blue fruits, candied rose, vanilla and a hint of five-spice powder on the deeply perfumed nose. Juicy acidity provides lift and structure to concentrated black raspberry, boysenberry and cola flavors that open up slowly and become spicier on the back half. Delivers power as well as finesse and finishes impressively long and sweet, showing resonating red fruit character and smooth, harmonious tannins. Vinous 93 2020-12-21
2018 Chiappini Bolgheri 'Felciaino' A nice choice for grilled porcini, the Giovanni Chiappini 2018 Bolgheri Rosso Felciaino is a blend of certified organic Cabernet Sauvignon (50%) with Merlot (40%) and a smaller part Sangiovese. This is a balanced expression that delivers nicely ripened fruit, not too heavy and not too light. This is the estate's entry-level red blend, but the care and balance of the winemaking is evident. Blackberry and maraschino cherry yield to smoked cedar and tilled earth. There is a touch of rosemary sprig on the close. Some 25,000 bottles were made, and you get great value. 2018 Two Hands Shiraz 'Angels Share' McLaren Vale Framboise, cherry and currant flavors are intense and focused, with a complex beam of rosemary and cigar box notes, backed by dense, sink-your-teeth-into-them tannins that add rich density. Finishes with fragrant accents of violet and white pepper. Drink now through 2035. 16,000 cases made, 4,500 cases imported. Wine Spectator 93 2020-12-18
2018 Morgan Chardonnay 'Highland' Santa Lucia Highlands Brilliant straw-gold. Vibrant citrus and orchard fruit aromas are complemented by hints of jasmine, vanilla and ginger. Juicy and tightly focused on the palate, offering lively Meyer lemon, pear and honeysuckle flavors that slowly unfurl through the midpalate. Shows fine definition and spicy bite on the long, focused finish, which leaves lemon zest and fennel notes behind. Vinous 91 2020-12-18

2016 Domaine du Pegau Cuvee Reserve Rouge Chateauneuf-du-Pape Reminding me of a fresher version of the 2003, the 2016 Chateauneuf Du Pape Cuvée Reservée is another magical wine from Laurence Feraud that could come from nowhere else. I still remember tasting (and loving) this beauty from barrel. It doesn’t quite have the sheer over-the-top decadence of the 2003, but it does have more elegance, while not giving up an inch with regard to texture and opulence. Dark ruby/plum-hued with a monster display of Provençal goodness in its garrigue, lavender, violets, kirsch, plums, and Asian spices, this full-throttle, ripe, sexy Châteauneuf du Pape has silky tannins, flawless balance, and a heavenly texture. It’s going to benefit from 2-4 years of bottle age and drink well for at least 20-25 years. Jeb Dunnuck 98 2020-12-17
