NV	Spill the Wine	Red Blend	Tasting fresh, like just-picked blackberries, this effusively fruity but dry and well-structured wine is fun to drink. 2018	Domaine du Pegau	Cuvee Reserve Chateauneuf-du-Pape	The Cuvée Réservée is Pegau’s crown jewel, a profoundly ripe yet deeply nuanced wine made from a Grenache-dominant blend of 13 regional red grape varieties. Vinified entirely in whole bunches and matured in large 2-year-old oak casks, its black plum and cherry are sonorous and piercing, accented by whiffs of black pepper, leather and sage. 2021	Ilurce	Garnacha Rose 'Rio Madre'	Deep pink in the glass, this wine has aromas of strawberry, nectarine and jasmine. There is a feeling of weightiness on the tongue, with flavors of dried apricot, cantaloupe, thyme and rose petal. A bright citrus note appears on the floral-laced finish. Best Buy. 2021	Marziano Abbona	Dogliani 'Papa Celso'	Fragrant nose of purple plums, wild strawberries, lavender and rosemary. Firm and chewy on the palate, with muscular tannins and a medium to full body. 2015	Andrea Oberto	Barolo DOCG Rocche Dell 'Annunziata	With fruit from La Morra, the Andrea Oberto 2015 Barolo Rocche dell'Annunziata reveals dark fruit character with summer cherry, dried currant, spice, tar and licorice. This wine shows a different inner engineering (compared to the Barolo Albarella) with more power and a more defined tannin backbone. The results are angular and edgy, and this Barolo definitely needs more cellar time to flesh out and soften. A mere 3,800 bottles were made.	Wine Advocate	94		2022-08-25
2015	Andrea Oberto	Barolo DOCG Rocche Dell 'Annunziata	The 2015 Barolo Rocche dell’Annunziata is floral and nicely lifted, with plenty of the perfumed, red berry notes that are so typical of this La Morra site. Silky tannins and mid-weight structure add to the wine’s gracious, lifted personality. Andrea Oberto's Barolos typically drink well with minimal cellaring, but the Rocche appears to still be recovering from its bottling a few months ago. I would give it a bit of time in bottle.
