Paolo Caciogna
Etna Rosso DOC
Nerello Mascalese
Organic
Magnesium-rich sand and mineral-rich, volcanic ash sand.
100% Nerello Mascalese. Pre-phylloxera rootstock. From 2005, N*Anticchia was the first wine Paolo produced on Etna and is the result of the selection of the best grapes of the three vineyards. N*Anticchia represents the essence of Paolo's interpretation of Etna and the centenary Nerello Mascalese, the vine Prince of this magical area. The vineyard is in Comune di Castiglione di Sicilia e Randazzo (CT) at 750 meters of elevation, north/northeast facing.
Fermentation via selected yeast in stainless steel.

Rrich in mineral notes thanks to the centuries-old lava torrents from which it comes. It has light fruity notes of strawberry and raspberry. It reveals velvety tannins, elegant, complex and has a persistent aftertaste. It is refined, extremely delicate, characterful and sophisticated. It reaches its best expression between 5 and 15 years of aging.
