I admit, we were inspired by Campari when creating this liqueur. Its color truly resembles the iconic Italian amaro. The taste is pleasantly bitter, yet not as strong as Campari and not overly sweet.
The original Campari recipe remains a closely guarded secret, with no one knowing the exact ingredients in the liqueur. We've never kept the ingredients of our Red Citrus Bitter a secret. The bottle has always listed the ingredients we use: various citrus distillates, primarily lemon and orange from Sóller, along with gentian root for refreshing bitterness. The color comes from the natural carmine (Cochineal). Campari used this dye too, until nearly 20 years ago when they switched to artificial colorings.
No liqueur tastes better on warm summer nights than our Red Citrus Bitter. I have a full list of favorite cocktails that I prepare with it. I especially enjoy the RCB & Tonic, a beautiful long drink to savor slowly. Freshly squeezed orange juice with a hint of Red Citrus Bitter is fantastic, also known as a Garibaldi. A few dashes of Red Citrus Bitter add depth and a beautiful pink hue to a Gin & Tonic. And last but not least, it's an essential component of Negronis (and Porronis): the citrus notes just fit perfectly here.
This liqueur is unfiltered and made with 100% natural ingredients. Turbidity and sedimentation may occur, serving as evidence of its artisanal production process. Due to its high content of essential oils, traces may float on the surface.
