“The best thing a company can offer is well-made products of consistent quality. That’s our family tradition, and that continues to be our vision for Don & Sons.” – Donny Sebastiani
At the turn of the century, in 1904, Italian immigrant Samuele Sebastiani began his career in Sonoma County. With nine years of savings from his job hauling paving stones by cart, Samuele made his first batch of wine. He sold his wine out of the back of that very same stone-hauling cart, and the Sebastiani family wine business was born. Samuele’s success grew through the years — he even held on through Prohibition by maintaining a winery license to produce for churches and medicinal purposes, securing the Sebastiani’s as one of the premier American winemaking families.
By 2001, 3rd-generation Don and his two sons, Donny and August, established Don Sebastiani & Sons in Sonoma, a wine company with a reputation for quality. Today the company is led by Donny Sebastiani, great-grandson of Samuele the Sebastiani patriarch. “The plan is to continue the progress that previous generations in my family have made,” says Donny. “I want to have a similar impact on the wine industry. We are focusing on appellation-driven wines that appeal to a more wine-savvy audience.”
Regal represents the following brands from Don & Sons:
Simple Life: A celebration of the small town Sonoma life and all of its simple pleasures. Classic California varietals, in easy-drinking styles, to be enjoyed as an everyday indulgence.
Custard Chardonnay: Inspired by Donny Sebastiani’s favorite childhood treat– a glazed donut with a creamy custard filling. “These grapes make a wine that reminds me of ‘comfort food.’ The first time I stuck my nose into a glass of this Chardonnay, it brought me back to that moment–and the idea for comfort wine was born.”
Gunsight Rock: Gunsight Rock wines highlight the richness and beauty of California’s wine country. Wild, intense and adventurous, they evoke the feeling of the sun on your face, the wind at your back, and the view of one of the world’s most picturesque wine regions – Paso Robles – spread out before you.
