2021 Pursued by Bear Syrah 'Baby Bear' Columbia Valley Dark, inky, and earthy, the 2021 Syrah Baby Bear has powerful, velvety layers of black plum, wild game, and shocks of white and black pepper. Full of tension and texture, it has a kick of acidity that keeps it fresh and lively despite its inherent full-bodied power. Age 15-20 years. Jeb Dunnuck 96 2025-07-15
2022 Chono Carmenere 'Single Vineyard' Colchagua Valley A carmenere to put as a textbook example of the variety, this comes from Peralillo, in the center of the Colchagua Valley, and spent a year in barrels, all used oak. It's a soft and juicy wine with good balance, herbal notes, and friendly acidity that underscores the notes of red fruits. Descorchados 90 2025-07-09

2024 Lava Cap Chardonnay El Dorado Fermented and aged 50% in French and Slavonian oak and 50% in stainless steel, with half the wine undergoing malolactic fermentation. The result is a zesty, racy Chardonnay with lovely depth of fruit and layered, silky texture. The oak character is perfectly integrated, adding a subtle honeyed richness that complements rather than overshadows. From nose to finish, it offers aromas and flavours of green apple, white peach, creamy pear, jasmine, and a cool wet river rock character, all carried through to a long, saline-mineral finish. Quite a fashionable white. Decanter 93 2025-07-07
2024 Lava Cap Chardonnay El Dorado Sourced from six Chardonnay blocks ranging from 2,400 to 2,700 feet in elevation in estate vineyards planted on volcanic soil, this intriguing medium-bodied wine displays pure notes of orchard fruits such as golden apple, fresh acidity, and a nice suggestion of saline minerality that one rarely finds in California Chardonnay. 2023 Lava Cap Cabernet Sauvignon El Dorado This is highly exciting Cabernet offered at a price that won't boost your blood pressure. Made from fruit grown in volcanic soils on hillside sites ranging in elevation from 2,700 to 3,100 feet (reportedly the highest-elevation Cabernet Sauvignon plantings in Northern California), it's packed with pure blackberry accented by a lip-smacking streak of saline minerality. Already quite complex in its youth, it will only improve for another five years. Tasting Panel 94 2025-07-02
2022 Di Giovanna Nerello Mascalese 'Vurria' The 2022 Nerello Mascalese di Giovanna Vurria is wildly fresh and pure in style, offering blackberry and sage complemented by a tinge of exotic spice. Juicy and round, it washes across the palate with mineral-inflected red and blue fruits riding a wave of juicy acidity. The finish brings a cascade of violet inner florals and a twang of sour citrus.
