(fermented and aged for six months in stainless steel tanks, followed by aging in French and American oak barrels for another six months) Lurid ruby. Heady cherry, black raspberry, licorice and floral pastille qualities on the spice-accented nose. Seamless and nicely focused; a firm spine of juicy acidity provides lift and structure to ripe dark berry and spicecake flavors. Finishes with gentle tannic grip and very good length, the berry note lingering nicely. There's outstanding value here. |

Sporting a deep purple/ruby color, the 2013 Reserve is a blend of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon and 18% Merlot. It offers classic dark fruits, (currants, plum), chocolate, roasted herbs and even a touch of meatiness to go with a medium to full-bodied, supple, impressively textured style on the palate. This has real depth and richness (especially in the vintage) and should keep for 15 years or more. |

Open-knit black and blue fruit flavors show very good clarity and depth and gain sweetness with air. Finishes smooth, round and smoky, with excellent length and harmonious tannins. This seductive Rioja was fermented in a combination of French and American oak barrels and then aged for 18 months before bottling. |
