2011 Domaine du Pegau Cuvee Reserve Chateauneuf-du-Pape (80% grenache, 6% syrah, 4% mourvedre and the rest "everything else"): Deep ruby. Ripe black and blue fruit aromas are complicated by potpourri, incense and licorice, with a smoky topnote. Sappy, focused dark berry and bitter cherry flavors are sharpened by juicy acidity and show very good depth. Lots of fruit here but there's good structure as well. Finishes sweet and long, with velvety tannins adding shape. As with the '12, there's a degree of elegance to this wine and less of the wild edge of the Pegaus of a few vintages back. 2017 Domaine Alain Voge Saint-Peray Fleur de Crussol Starting with the 2017 Saint-Péray Fleur De Crussol, which is 100% Marsanne and still aging in barrel, it offers medium-bodied notes of caramelized apple, tangerine, and brioche in a balanced, tight, vibrant style. It’s going to need at least a year of bottle age to start to show at its best. Jeb Dunnuck 90-92 2019-01-10
2017 Domaine Alain Voge Cornas Les Vieilles Vignes The 2017 Cornas Les Vieilles Vignes comes from the older vines of the estate and higher elevation south and southeast facing terroirs and is still aging in 15-20% new French oak. It has a tighter, more inward style in its crème de cassis, toasted spice, graphite, and floral aromas and flavors. Full-bodied, with plenty of fat and opulent, beautiful underlying tannins, and sensational purity of fruit, it's a gem of a wine that's going to benefit from 2-3 years of bottle age and keep for 10-15 years. This cuvée was first released from this estate in 1970. Jeb Dunnuck 94-96 2019-01-10
2016 Domaine Alain Voge Saint-Peray Fleur de Crussol Moving to the whites from bottle, the 2016 Saint-Péray Fleur De Russol showed brilliantly, with beautiful stone fruits, spice, toasted almond, and hints of minerality. This medium to full-bodied Marsanne has a layered, ripe yet elegant style, terrific fruit, and a great finish. Drink it over the coming 4-5 years. Jeb Dunnuck 93 2019-01-10
2017 Domaine Vallet Rouelle-Midi Condrieu White flowers, tangerine, and citrus notes all emerge from the 2017 Condrieu Rouelle Midi, another charming, forward, juicy 2017 that's beautifully done. With medium-bodied richness, good acidity, and a clean finish, it's ideal for drinking over the coming 2-3 years. Jeb Dunnuck 91 2019-01-10
2016 Domaine Vallet Rouelle-Midi Condrieu The 2016 Condrieu Rouelle-Midi was brought up in mostly in tank, with just 30% in barrel. This light gold-colored effort has obvious minerality and salinity in its white peach, tangerine peel, and floral aromas and flavors. Nicely textured on the palate, with good acidity and a medium-bodied mouthfeel, it's beautiful today yet should keep for 3-5 years as well. Jeb Dunnuck 91 2019-01-10
2016 Domaine Vallet Saint Joseph Meribets The 2016 Saint Joseph Meribets is terrific, with a beautiful sense of elegance and finesse in its fruit and tannins. Blackberries, plums, peppery herbs, and light mineral notes all flow to a medium-bodied, silky wine that has good acidity, tons of upfront charm, and no hard edges. It's well worth a multi-bottle purchase and will drink nicely for 5-7 years. This wine was completely destemmed and spent 10 months in used barrels. Jeb Dunnuck 90 2019-01-10
2016 Domaine Vallet Saint Joseph Muletiers Aged 16 months in barrels, the 2016 Saint Joseph Muletiers is a slightly deeper, richer wine. Black currants, cassis, crushed violets, leafy herbs, and peppery notes all emerge from this elegant yet textured beauty that has medium to full body, ample mid-palate density, and sweet tannins. It's a fabulous Saint Joseph to drink over the coming 8-10 years. Jeb Dunnuck 93 2019-01-10
2015 Le Cadeau Diversite Pinot Noir Dark red. Heady aromas of fresh red and blue fruits, Asian spices and incense, backed by a smoky mineral element. Sappy, sharply delineated raspberry, boysenberry and cola flavors pick up a sexy floral pastille note and a hint of five-spice powder with air. Pure and seamless on the gently tannic finish, which features lingering floral and spice notes. Vinous 93 2019-01-03
2018 Vina Quintay Clava Pinot Noir Rose Harvested a couple of weeks before the pinot noir for red wines, the grapes are destemmed and then they go to the vat. This rosé is the result of the juice that is generated with the natural pressure of the grapes, against each other, in the barrel, about 16,000 liters in total of this delicious rosé, full of fruit flavors and floral notes, in a light body wine and juicy acidity. Take it by boxes to summer vacations. Descorchados 90 2018-12-27
