16 acres including parcels in the crus St-Jean-de-la-Porte and Arbin. Sheltered from the winds of the North on the slopes of Freterive, St Jean de la Porte and Montmelian, in the heart of the Combe de Savoie. Manual harvest with strict selection in both vineyard and on sorting table before crush. The vineyard is composed of young and old vines. Lower yields 40-50 hl/ha.

Dark Jurassic limestone and black marl base with pebbly topsoil layer of scree (degraded limestone fragments that have accumulated over time from Massif des Bauges slopes above).

69 acres total planted on the hillsides of the Combe de Savoie to the following varieties: Jacquère: 4.94 acres in the cru Montmélian – labeled Vin de Savoie Montmélian, Roussette aka Altesse: 6.18 acres in various parcels – labeled Roussette de Savoie, Chardonnay: 9.88 acres – labeled Vin de Savoie Chardonnay (best parcels for Cuvée Prestige), Roussanne aka Bergeron: 15 acres in the cru Chignin – labeled Chignin-Bergeron, Gamay: 8.15 acres – labeled Vin de Savoie Gamay, Pinot Noir: 8.9 acres – labeled Vin de Savoie Pinot Noir (best parcels for Cuvée Jeannine), and Mondeuse: 16 acres including parcels in the crus St-Jean-de-la-Porte and Arbin. All parcels sustainably farmed (lutte raisonnée). Vinification

Manual sorting after harvest and 100% de-stemming. Cold maceration for 72 hours at temperatures below 10C. Maceration and alcoholic fermentation at 28C. Total time of maceration 15-20 days with punching and winding daily. Bottled without filtration.

Aging

Primary fermentation in concrete, with 4-8 month elevage in stainless steel.

Tasting Note

Spicy and peppery with powerful tannins. Balanced, it enchants the palate with its attack and its length in the mouth, with notes of violet and cherries. Ideal accompaniment to red meats, game and cheeses.
