Boutinot France winemaking team
Sourced from ‘Les Turcs’, a single 7ha east-facing terraced high altitude vineyard in the hills behind the village of Séguret, planted with mostly Grenache intermingled with some Syrah, vines whose minimum age is 50, many older still. The high altitude, old vines and very particular terroir make our Séguret quite unique. These are stony, argillaceous limestone terraces high above the schistous slopes of the village of Séguret. Here the grapes benefit from the morning sun and even ripening temperatures.
All the grapes are hand picked. Traditional long cuvaison using only indigenous yeasts and remontages to release all the potential of the grapes and their skins. 24 months in French oak 228 litre barrels and one quarter in 600 litre demimuids, one third new, one third of 2nd fill and one third of 3rd & 4th fill.
