DESTIHL Brew Works and Restaurant embarked on its mission in 2007 to pair artisan food, craft beer and first-class service in its original, pioneering gastro brewpub in Normal, IL. It is a certified Independent Craft Brewery by the Craft Brewers Association.
DESTIHL quickly made a name for itself with its innovative barrel-aging program, including its Dosvidanya® Russian Imperial Stouts and Saint Dekkera® Reserve Sour Series, one of the early U.S. pioneering brands in barrel-aged sours, both of which brands have won several medals at GABF and the Festival of Barrel Aged Beers (FoBAB), where Dosvidanya has also won back-to-back Best in Show and Runner-up Best in Show awards.
After opening its first production brewery in 2013, DESTIHL launched one of the first sour beer brands packaged in cans in the U.S. (and the very first canned sour series) in 2014, making sours more affordable, approachable, fun, consistent and widely available. The Wild Sour Series propelled the brewery’s rapid growth and broader distribution network while helping to change & inspire innovation in the craft beer industry.
