The climate typically presents hot days and cold nights, with a considerable temperature variation. Harvest takes place in two, separate stages: an early harvest to obtain good acidity, freshness and floral notes; and a second harvest to obtain tropical fruits aromas and flavors.

Their family has grown vines in the foothills of the Andes Mountains in Mendoza for over four generations. Lote 44 wines come from a high altitude vineyard selection in the Uco Valley over 3,300 feet elevation located at the foothills of the Andes Mountains.
First the grapes undergo a cold, pre-fermentation maceration to preserve primary aromas, followed by fermentation with a series of pumpovers to ensure a more balanced extraction. The juice is then fermented for about 12 days at low temperatures and it is followed by a post fermentation maceration.
