A dozen rosés to sip before summer ends.
In a world full of endless options of pink sips to enjoy this summer, here’s a list of a dozen rosés that stand out among the rest.
Di Giovanna Vurría 2021 Nerello Mascalese Rosato
Moving further south of Italy to northern Sicily, this pale pink with a slight orange tint — Sicilia DOC rosé –outshines some of the top Provençal labels. The wine label’s namesake is from a Sicilian poem, Vurría, translation: to wish for. The grape varietal, Nerello Mascalese, is somewhat similar to a Pinot Noir. Nerello Mascalese is named after its (guesstimated) origins in the Mascali area in Catania. The wine tastes of pomegranate with minerality in a perfect balance and unique taste. It’s also produced with grapes that are certified organic and vegan. Sip without food, or try with shellfish, grilled white fish, pork, or sushi. $18
