Ratings & Reviews
Vineyard

Situated south of the Montagne de Reims, a few kilometers from Epernay on the other side of the Marne, the Aÿ Cru is one of Champagne’s oldest and most famous wine villages. Its 350 hectares, 89% of which are planted to Pinot Noir, are classified as Grand Cru. The irregular hillside is covered with brown limestone soils layered over clean chalk (Upper Cretaceous) whose elegance balances the natural vinosity of the first soil horizons. The vines are primarily south-facing with some occasional steep slopes which increase the reflection of the sun.

Tasting Note

Radiant and powerful, yet elegant. This is the epitome of a Pinot Noir grown in superlatives sites which fuses strong, appetising characters with incredible elegance. If offers suggestions of yellow fruits, almond tart and almond paste tweaked with some delicate touches of orange blossom. The palate is precise and reminiscent of a basket of fruit towards the end of summer. The finish is long and flavorful.
